My Love to You!

I got this cute image from Phindy's Place. The original image has a background of raindrops with the Mama bird protecting her young... too sweet.I cut away the background so I could change it up to what I needed. I colored the image with Copics and Prismacolor markers. The paper is all from scraps.(New years resolution #1: use up your old stuff). I made a label with TTBM cartridge using my cricut. The charm is one I bought in the beading section at Michael's. I used a cuttlebug folder which I inked a little with brown distress ink (Tim Holtz). I used my crimper for the light blue paper (crimped in both directions).A MS punch for the edge on the dark blue background piece, which was then inked too, a SU stamp for sentiment, a little doodling around the white edges with a glitter pen, and a piece of fiber for the charm. Phew! It's a lot easier to create the card then to list all the stuff! LOL! Happy new Year... I love you all!

FBW 90 Challenge & 3d42 PCP Challenge

I did this cool mini pizza box using the template that was on the 3D Tuesday Challenge group at Paper Craft Planet. Isn't it cool? Flutter By Wednesday also has a challenge to use a butterfly, fairy or angel on it. I used ribbon that I had on hand and a Prima flower that I received from my blogging buddy Christine (thanks!). The butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch that I used embossing powder on to make it look like a charm. The button is from a bunch I bought at the Scrapbook Convention last year(I don't know who's tho). And what's inside you ask? Well... anything you want! This would be cool for a gift card, or jewelery, or money, etc., etc., etc.!

Rudolph is getting ready to fly!

So anyway...I read a story to my preschoolers yesterday at work entitled "Mrs. Santa Claus". In the story, Santa and the reindeer come down with spots so it is up to Mrs. Claus to figure out how to deliver all the presents. Being a woman of course she has a plan. She outfits a bicycle with a vacuum cleaner motor and enables it to fly. Problem solved! But, to get to the point of my title here... We (the children and I) got to talking about Rudolph. The children were worried that he would still be sick and not able to fly on Christmas Eve. This is where my little white lie comes in...I told them that Rudolph wasn't sick. When they asked me how I knew... I told them cause he lives at my house and only goes to the North Pole 2 days before Christmas to make the trip! I told them that he was quite happy at my house where it is warmer than the North Pole and that he likes to play with my dog and munch on the grass in my back yard! Now for the real problem... I told them I would bring in pictures of him on Monday! So I guess I better get busy finding pics of reindeer on the internet! Oh, I also told them that his nose is only red right before Christmas so that he can guide the sleigh! LOL!

Canny...Isn't it?!

I made these containers to hold little gifts for Christmas. The short squatty one is from a tin of peanuts. I opened it from the bottom, removed the nuts, washed it out and then filled it and resealed it. What did I fill it with you ask? Why money of course! I will give it to one of my sons for Christmas. He will have to open it with the top pop on the can so I don't think he'll realize what will be in it! What fun! The other two cans are from vegetables and mandarin oranges. I used the food in them (opened the normal way),removed the labels, painted the rims, and used some decorative papers, stamps, and Cricut images to decorate along with some fun ribbons, wire for the handles(used my Crop-a-dile to punch out the holes for the wire) added a little bit of fluff for the red embellishments on the stamped one. These will contain candy canes, and hot cocoa packages. So...are you eating your vegetables?! Treasures can be found once the cans are empty!

Just Buggin' and C4C challenges (both are #15!)

I did this card for two different challenges... Just Buggin' and Crazy 4 Challenges. Just Buggin is to do a holiday themed card using your Cricut and C4C challenge this week is "snow". You are to use snowmen or snowflakes. My card was done with a beautiful Tim Holtz stamp that I received from my blogging friend Christine. I used SU ink for it. I added two images that I cut out using my Cricut and the Winter Wonderland cartridge.(The reindeer and the snowflake). I added some pretty ribbon which has snowflakes on it. My designer paper is from a winter pack from DCWV.My red background paper is from Bazzil and my other solid card stock is from SU. I used a glitter pen to outline the points of my snowflake. Altogether a very pleasing card (to my eye anyway...lol!). Sorry for the kind of blurry picture but it is so hard to take pics at night without a flash...Let me know what you think and leave me some lovin'!

Paper Piecing for S2G DT call

Shirley's 2 Girls has a DT call that they are extending until December 20th so get your entries in! Go to their blog to get the info. I did this card following their sketch with the twist to use paper piecing. I used a Michael's $1 stamp for my image. I stamped him 4 times on different papers then cut out the designer paper for his body, and the card stock for his hat and carrot. Then all I needed to do was glue it all on my image that I stamped on white card stock. I colored his twig arms brown and added some bling to the snowflakes that are swirling down around him. I used a punch for my circular cut and then stamped part of a stamp sentiment for the "Joy". The papers are scraps from my stash so not sure who made them. Thanks for looking and remember to check out the DT call!

Stamptacular Sunday # 37

I have so much on my plate right now with work(2 jobs) and xmas shopping, decorating, and cookie making, etc., etc., etc.! I bet everyone is in the same boat. I needed to make time for "me". And what better use of my time then relaxing with some card making, so...

The challenge this week at Stamptacular Sunday Challenge is to make a card with "bling" and not use green or red.Oh, and of course you need to stamp somewhere on the card! I really love how this card turned out! I used SU stamp for the greeting and a clear stamp (G Stamps) for the stars. I used SU papers and embossing powder for that gorgeous bling background.(If you click on the pic, it will enlarge the image and you'll see all the sparkly bling!) The reindeer was cut out using my Cricut and the Winter Wonderland cartridge. The tag was cut from the SU tag punch.I ripped and inked the edges with SU ink (almost Navy) to simulate snow. The ribbon is from my stash and the clip is a Xmas ornament hanger from the Dollar store.

Here is a peek at the inside of the card done with stamps for the sentiment and the reindeer. Hope you have a super week!

Twisted Sisters' Challenge #35 and a DT Callout!

This week S2G has a sketch with a cool twist! You are to use foil or tin somewhere on your card...(Pretty cool, huh!).I chose this cute little mouse image from S2G that is holding a bunch of flowers. The original image had a sentiment that read"You've got a friend in me". But I wanted to make this into a holiday card, so after printing it (it's a digital image)I just cut out the part I wanted to use and then colored with my Copics. I added some glam to the flowers by using prima flowers over the original ones, then coloring them with Copics, added some Stickles and then glitter over that! Wheh! But the end result is worth it cause I think those flowers remind me of poinsettias...(use your imagination here ladies and gents!!!). I used regular tin foil that I folded several times before using my snowflake folder and running it thru my cuttlebug. Chalks were used on the background for my mouse image. The sentiment is an old SU stamp and I added a paper clip with a little bit of gingham for the embellishment. I also ran some ribbon around the border of my foiled piece. My background dp was a scrap I had on my work table. I am so trying to always use them up!
They are also having a callout for new members to their design team! This card is my entry for that as well. Go to their site by clicking on S2G that can be found at the beginning of this post. Give it a try!
I hope your week is "merry & bright"! Leave me some lovin' !

Crazy 4 Challenges # 13

This week the challenge at Crazy for Challenges is to use punches anywhere on your card. I used the Martha Stewart lattice punch to edge this image.I didn't use the whole width of the punch but rather just used the edge of it. Another Christmas card down! I used SU card stock and Copics & Prismacolor markers to color this image from Rubber Stampede. How are you doing on your holiday cards?

Happy Turkey!

I hope everyone here in the States had a great Thanksgiving. Our family had a great time celebrating together. We had a 38 lb.turkey! Feasting was done by all... I still have 2 pies left to munch on this week! This pumpkin turkey was the centerpiece on our table. He sure looked happy and everyone loved "plucking" his tail feathers! One of my students brought one of these into school for our "snack of the week". I just knew I would have to copy this idea and use it for our celebration.I used grapes and chunks of cheddar cheese for the tail feathers and cheese for the nose with raisin eyes. It was a hit! It sure is wonderful to be able to celebrate holidays with those you love. I hope you had the opportunity to thank God for your blessings like I did!The next day (Friday)was my son Tom's 19th birthday so the partying continued!

Crazy 4 Challenges #12

Crazy 4 Challenges has a cool sketch this week so I thought I would give it a go! I love these little Mice from House Mouse and thought that they would be perfect for this sketch. I used copics and some other embellishments. The cool little swirl metal is really an ornament hanger that I found at The Dollar Tree in a package of 40! What a deal! I'm sure you could think of lots of ways to incorporate them into your creations! I first saw them on my friend Georgia's blog (yes...another Georgia!). She found hers at Hobby Lobby. I bet mine were cheaper! LOL! So a big Thank You Georgia for making me aware they were out there!

SSC Weekly Challenge #33

Stamptacular Sunday's challenge this week is for a thanksgiving card. If you use a turkey, you get two entries into their challenge. Well... who doesn't like something for free?!
I found this funny turkey online while going through coloring book pages. I thought I would pop him up on this great floral background (kind of "camo" him...lol!)I hope his disguise works!!!

Card Patterns challenge #41

I finally feel like maybe my Mojo is back. For the last couple of weeks I have been very lethargic (big word..are you duly impressed?! LOL!). But I think I finally feel up to creating again. This card was done for the challenge this week at Card Patterns (#41 challenge) which was to follow their sketch. This is a smaller card just the right size to slip on top of a gift for that little "Angel" in your life! I used a card with the silver dots already on it and added the additional layered background pieces. I used my dotted swiss folder for the green piece of paper. The rest is self explanatory. The image was a swap so I am not sure where it originates...(maybe SU?). Have a great day everyone!

Squigglefly Challenge

My card with the cute snowman was done for the Squigglefly challenge this week. This again is another sketch challenge. I used stickles on the snow and a gel pen on the outline of the snowman's hat, arms, and a few other places. The snowman is from Cornish Farms (i think...!), but I think that I was to use a Squigglefly image so it probably won't win anything... (And I do have lots of their images! I just wasn't thinking and already entered their challenge. Oh well... there's always next week!) I used my round scalloped Nesties for the center background and image. Some chalk inks were used to distress the edges of the 4 squares in the background. And of course copics to color... I figured that I would do holiday cards cause it will be here before we know it! The weather today (and all last week, and next week) is wonderful in Buffalo! It has felt like September days of Indian summer! But that means that my brain thinks it's earlier then it is... LOL! Have a great day everyone and a super week!

Twisted Sister Thursday Challenge

I did this card for the challenge over at Shirley's 2 Girls this week.(S2GSC33) I loved the sketch and just had to figure out how to use it.You also needed to add wire somewhere on your card. (Hence the twist! LOL!) I came up with the cute little flower pot idea that you see above. I then used an image from S2G for my stamped image to follow the sketch...and Voila! Here is the result...

I used copics to color it. Leave me some lovin' and let me know what you think!

Baby Shower Day!

Well today is the day for my nephew and niece (in-law)'s baby shower. I finished this keepsakes box last night! Nothing like last minute... I thought they could keep the baby cards, birth announcement, etc. in it as keepsakes. Yes they are having a girl! They will name her Madelyn. Her name will be in memory of my sister (my nephew's Mom) who past away, Lynda. It will be awfully hard to keep emotions in check tonight with my sister not here for the baby shower... But hopefully there will be lots of tears of happiness too!
The above are the favors that I made. The Cutting Cafe has a sweet template for these little boxes and also has sentiments that you can use with them. I used my scallop and circle punches to make the little flowers on top of each one and then filled with candy. I hope everyone likes them!

Happy Halloween!

Sorry I have been MIA... I have been super busy with...life! I went Xmas shopping last weekend with my girlfriends to PA. (no tax on clothing there). This week has been super busy at work and home. The grandbabies were over last night and I had brought them home a craft from school to make. Aren't they so darn cute?! They (Bella and Augie) are coming over in a little while to carve pumpkins (nothing like waiting til the last day...) and have dinner here before going trick or treating. I made pumpkin chili in the Crock pot. Yummy! And I made a pumpkin pie for dessert! I guess I am trying to get all my pumpkins in for the holiday! LOL! I hope everyone is well and I will get around to all your blogs starting tomorrow when I have a little "breathing room" time. Happy Halloween everyone! And don't forget to set those clocks back tonight!!!

C4C7 Challenge

I love these Gorjuss girls stamps! This card was done for the Crazy 4 Challenges this week. After posting this here and going back to the Crazy 4 Challenges blog spot I noticed that I forgot to put in the strip of paper near the bottom of my stamped image... Yikes! Oh well... I still liked the sketch even if I didn't copy it correctly! LOL!

Last of the Halloween Cards?

This didn't start out as a Halloween card...but something happened to it along the way! I think a magic spell was cast upon my mind and it grabbed this digital image to use instead of the one I originally planned! LOL! Oh well! This will be the last of the Halloween cards for this year as I don't need anymore. And...it's time to start on other holidays! Have a great Sunday everyone. I am off to church and will be back here later today hopefully.

Cricut Farm Bingo

I used my Cricut to cut out all of these cute little images. We made these bingo boards for our 4 year old classroom to play before our trip to the Farm next week. We laminated each board. I can't wait for our classroom to play with them! We made 20 different boards, so there were a lot of little images to piece together!

Welcome Baby...

I did this card for my nephew and his wife (my niece in law?) who are expecting a baby in January. My daughter and I will be hosting a baby shower for them next month when they come home to Buffalo for a wedding. It's kind of hard to do a shower for someone who doesn't live close by and who will be flying home. (They live in Nevada). So... I asked her to register at stores where I know people can buy gifts at this end and she can pick them up in Nevada when they return home! Hopefully it will all work out! I did tell her to bring an extra suitcase...just in case there are some gifts at this end...(homemade gifts, etc.) So... now to plan the decorations, menu, etc.! I sure do love giving parties!

Stamptacular Challenge #28

I found this challenge by seeing it on one of my friends' blog...Gram's Place.

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge has a cool challenge this week.Your challenge is to use a known cartoon character in your card. I love the Smurfs and this brings back many memories of watching the Smurfs on television with my daughter many "moons" ago! My image is a digital image so I hope it counts as a stamp...? Just in case it doesn't, I used an SU stamp of an apple outline and stamped it over my sentiment! I used Sharpies and Prisma markers to color it. The sentiment is from the Character Cafe. I used Making Memories dp and brads. Aren't those brads so cute?! I picked them up last week at Big Lots for a buck! Sometimes you can find some treasures in their card/scrap booking section.I sure feel like I did! My solid card stock is from SU. Thanks for looking!

Stamp Something & Crazy 4 Autumn Blessings

Stamp Something's
challenge this week is to use brown as your primary color.Their prize for the winner is a 12 marker set of pastel COPICS! Does it get any better than that??? Crazy 4 Challenges(C4C6) asks you to create a card using a thankful theme so I am entering this there also. I used this circular image from the Cutting Cafe along with the sentiment for the middle of the circle. My leaves and pumpkin are digitals from Modern Sugar Blvd. The DP is Miss Elizabeth. I colored the brad with my Copic because it wasn't the right color. My images are colored with Copics also. I used my chalks to put a little color inside the circle. The ribbon is from some yarn I bought a few years ago at the Dollar Tree. Thanks for lookin' and don't forget to leave some lovin'!

Vee's Sketch Pad Lucky Week #13

What a great challenge over at Vee's Sketch Pad this week! You need to follow the sketch and do a Christmas card. So I thought I would give it a go! My image and sentiment are actually from an old Christmas card that was given to our family last year. I saved a few card fronts thinking I could recycle the images! The snowflakes are stickers. The cardstock is from SU and the dp is from Making Memories. Thanks for another great sketch!

MMSC #22

Robyn's Fetish is where I found this cute digi image for this weeks' challenge. The Midnight Madness challenge this week is another good one! Go on over and check it out! I've used Target $1 spot paper for this card and copics and sharpies to color.I used a Martha Stewart loop punch to do the edge around the image.Sorry the image is a little blurry...
I sure seem to be on a Halloween kick lately... but with all of these cute images I just can't seem to keep away from Halloween...LOL! Leave me some lovin'!

Halloween is coming...

I did these quick cards using a couple of digital images from My Grafico. The cute little bat and the sentiment are from My Grafico.I printed the bat twice (got to love digital) and then popped him up and bent the wings to make it look like he was flying. The pumpkins are from Modern Sugar Blvd, and I printed it twice, cut out one and popped it out in front of the first one.
It's been mighty quiet around the Blvd. for the last couple of weeks, hopefully it will liven up again soon...
I used stickles on the sentiment and my cool gooey punch from Martha Stewart. The dp is from Target's $1 spot for both cards. Hope everyone is off to enjoy their long weekend. We will just be sticking close to home and doing things that need to be done around here :( Last year we were in Las Vegas for my nephew's wedding. I can't believe it will be a year already!

Midnight Madness Challenge #21 & Crazy 4 Challenges

How do you like them pumpkins! LOL! I used a couple different digital images this week for the Midnight Madness sketch challenge. I have also entered this in the Crazy 4 Challenges contest which wants sewing (real or faux) somewhere on your card.

My pumpkins are from Modern Sugar Blvd. and my cute little witch is a digital from the very talented Mo Manning over at Mo's digital pencil too! . She was a freebie over at SNR for her followers. I have used Miss Elizabeth dp and Michael's cardstock. Copics and glitter pens to color. So... let me know what you think!

MMSC # 20

Another week and another sketch challenge for Midnight Madness! This one took a little more planning on my part, but I eventually settled on this cute digital image! I used brown and pink with a little gray thrown in for good measure! Have a good week everyone...

MSB Digi Day

Good morning everyone! Yesterday over at SNR Card Universe Modern Sugar Blvd. had a digi day event. Lots of fun was had by all who attended. They gave away a cute little cat digi and challenged you to make a Halloween card with it. Here's what I created. I paper pieced the cat for 3 of the images and stamped a background to my paper. I chalked over the stamped background for more interest. The paper on the bottom half of the card is suppose to kind of represent a fence (use your imagination here folks... lol !). I used a $1 stamp from Joanne's for the sentiment, circle cut it with the black paper and chalked it up...(to represent a full moon). They are having one heck of a party on that fence, howling at the moon with those bats flying around...ha ha! There's still time to go to Modern Sugar Blvd. over at SNR Card Universe for your free cat image and give the challenge a try. So; come on and "howl" with me!!!
