Monday, Monday...

Happy Monday everyone! I don't know about you but Monday is the toughest day of the week for me.... I always have a hard time sleeping on Sunday nights. Not sure why!
Anyway... I thought I would share a card I made for a co-worker whose sister passed away suddenly last Friday. I have the hardest time making sympathy cards....(almost as hard as falling asleep on Sunday evenings...lol).

I used my Cricut Explore to cut out the flowers which I glued onto the purple Cardstock. The purple yardstick was embossed using a Swiss dots folder by Cricut. A purple ribbon laid over a strip of white yardstick. I added some pearl embellishments, a butterfly die cut and the sentiment to finish off the card.
I never am sure of just how much is too gaudy but hope this will be fine...I want the card to show my respect and care to the receiver in their time of grief. Hopefully this card will.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Paperback Weekly : ribbon

Mothers...

Today the card challenge for CardzTV is all about your Mums, Moms, Mothers,Mamas, or whatever term of endearment you use for your Mom. We are celebrating Mother's Day in a couple of weeks and thought that it would be a great time to honor her with cards. Just think...you can create a card for your Mom ahead of time, enter our challenge and possible be the winner of a wonderful stamp set from CardzTV !
Here is the card I have created...

I used paper from Recollections for my base and all layers. I used an embossing folder from Darice called "Grass" to emboss my layers with. I added a touch of "rick-rack" to the bottom of the card. The ovals were cut out using Spellbinders dies. I used foam tape to elevate the ovals on the card. A Copic marker was used to lightly go over all of the embossed images to help bring them "up front" a little better. Two different CardzTV stamp sets were used for the card. On this front section I used a sentiment from the "Happy Days" set. Here is a close up of the inside of the card...

The stamp used on the inside of the card is from the "Heavenly" stamp set. Again I used the Spellbinder dies to cut my ovals. The finishing touches to both the inside and outside of the card are my sweet butterflies. They are from a Martha Stewart punch.
Please hop on over to CardzTV and check out all of the wonderful cards made by my design team sisters. Then sometime in the next two weeks plan on joining in on the fun! I hope I see you there!

Butterflies are Free...

Good morning everyone and happy Friday! Today is my last day of my vacation and Monday will find me back in my classroom...But enough about me! Our card challenge is all about butterflies. Create a card using butterflies. Easy peasy!
Here is my card for the card challenge over at Cardz TV.

I used my Cricut Explore to cut out all of the parts of my card. My Cuttlebug was used to emboss two of the bigger blue butterflies. Then the fun began...putting it all together! My paper is from Loopah and I love the design on it.The mason jar and smaller butterflies are from the Kate's ABC's cartridge. The papers for my die cuts are from my scrap pile. The three pearl embellishments are from the $1 spot at Michael's.The stamp set that I used is one of the newest ones from CardzTV. It is called Mixed Messages.

Come check out the other team members cards and join in the fun ! All creations must be new. No back posting allowed. You just might be the next owner of a wonderful stamp set from Cardz TV!
