Loving these Jars...

Hi everyone! I'm finally going back to work tomorrow and am super hyped! My vestibular therapy is going well and I can balance once again! LOL
Today I want to share a few cards that I created using an image that I found online of a canning jar. Here are the first cards that I made...

I used Kraft paper and traced the jar template outonto a 5"x7" card base and then cut my card to the shape of the jar. I added labels made using one of my new die sets from Spellbinders and strawberries and flower blossom from the Preserves cartridge from Provo Craft and Cricut. My vine was made using a Sissix die. I used Baker's twine to tie around the jar top to complete the card. I love how they turned out.

Next I took the same canning jar image; printed it out a little smaller and colored it with my Copics. They were then cut out and I used a piece of material to tie around the jar tops. These were then mounted to a 4.5 x 5.5 card base which I covered with design paper from my scraps.
I also added a single label and the same strawberries as the first time. The sentiment is a stamp from a stamp set from Joys Life.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Southern Girls - It's All New (use new stash, etc... My image is new and so are my label dies)

A Pirates Life For Me...

Hi everyone! I have been away from my blog for a couple weeks as I had a lot going on in my life. My father was in Hospice and passed away last Friday January 10th. He was 92 years old and had a full life. He kept me pretty busy between visits and still working full time. My sister came in from Florida and stayed with me to visit with our Dad during this time. On Thursday of last week my body decided to play tricks on me and I became extremely dizzy! I can't walk without holding on to walls...such fun. After seeing a neurologist I finally have an answer. I have vestibular neuronitis. Fancy word to say that my left ear has lost 40 percent of its balancing abilities and because of that I am dizzy! I start vestibular therapy today and am on a week of steroids so hopefully I will learn to cope with this and get on with my life. Whew! Enough about me; now on to my card...

I created this card using a pirate image from Jellypark Friends. This image has been earmarked this year with all proceeds from its sale going to the Willow Foundation. What fun to color! I also decided to make my own paper as I wanted to create a treasure map. Here is the front of the card...

My image was colored with Copic and Promarkers. The striped paper is from a journaling tag. The sentiment is from a $1 stamp at Michael's. Now here is a look at the inside of the card...

Another image was colored and a few stamps were used. I used a gray and a tea dye distress inks for the edges.I drew and colored in some land markers and dotted lines to complete the "treasure map". I think a young lad would love to receive this. What do you think?
Make sure to go over to Jellypark Friends and check out the latest challenge..."Buttons and Bows".

New Beginnings...

Welcome 2014! I hope this year will be full of wonderful promise, family, and love for all of you... Over at Jellypark Friends we are starting off the new year with a "New Beginnings" challenge. We want to see your creation that has anything to do with new beginnings. Whether it be a new job, new home, new baby, new love, etc. You get the idea...think NEW! I used a cute image from Jellypark Friends to make a card to congratulate a friend on her new job. Check out the sweet image...
I colored her using Copic markers. Here is my finished card...

I used some cool papers and did some stitching with my sewing machine.I placed everything on a kraft card stock base. I also used Tattered Angels glimmer mist to change the white flowers so they would match the papers. The cloth covered brad is an oldie from my "stash". A few brads to place in the center of the flowers and my card was done!
I would love to have you all check out the challenge at Jellypark Friends and then join in the fun. Have a great weekend everyone.
I would also like to enter the following challenges:
