Challenge #54 @ Critter Sketch!

This week at Critter Sketch Challenge Blog, the challenge is to use a sentiment as your focal point on the front of your card. No other central image. You may dress it up or dress it down it is your way to do what you wish! Just remember...Only a sentiment! I have used a sentiment from Papertrey that was given away last month as a freebie. I thought it would make the perfect anniversary card, and it did! I have used a Sissix punch for my vine and a stamp to do the vine on the bottom and inside of the card. I used a digital image from Happileigh Scrappin' for the little bunch of flowers on the inside too. I colored with my Copic markers and used a Nestibilities die for the sun behind my sentiment.I used an SU scallop punch for the brown paper behind the sentiment also. The papers are all from my huge scrap pile! Here is the inside of my card:

So...come on over and join in the fun! Have a great Monday everyone!
I am also entering into the following challenges:
IDIC - Punches or die cuts

Ring That Bell and Celebrate!

Over at Happileigh Scrappin' Challenge blog this week we have a special challenge going on... it's all about Andrew, a little 12 year old baseball player (#8 on the Elm Grove Eagles) who has been fighting cancerous brain tumors he so unfairly has had to deal with instead of playing baseball. While we have been brightening the days of others, Andrew has been making progress, day by day, inch by inch and just recently reached a milestone in his fight against cancer.I was not familiar with this, maybe some of you are, but evidently at many cancer treatment centers, when a patient has completed their very last chemo treatment, they get to Ring the Bell which is a celebratory gesture marking their successful accomplishment in reaching the end of their chemo treatments. That is the milestone Andrew recently reached. What a wonderful thing for Andrew and his family! Yay! Unfortunately after Andrew rang the bell, his chemo made him sick and he spent more time than expected in the hospital and ended up with pneumonia. After more trying days, he fought that off and was released and is now back home. He has an MRI scheduled for February 28th (today). A clean bill of health would be the ultimate result there! And then his port will be removed March 1st, another milestone for Andrew! Keep him in your thoughts and prayers for a successful MRI result!
Now about the challenge!
Let's make cards for Andrew with a Bell on them to signify his accomplishment. You can purchase Leigh's digital image by visiting her website and make a card using Andrew's image on it or if you prefer not to spend the money for the customized image from Leigh, you can still participate by using your own bell stamps. If you don't have any bell stamps, then just make something celebratory for Andrew. I thought we could set a deadline of March 15th to get your card in the mail to him and then on the 16th of March, we can all upload our cards to SCS with a special Andrew keyword so we can all admire and comment on each other's cards!

For Andrew's safety we are not keeping his address here so PLEASE email Leigh at happiscrappin@msn.com for Andrew's address.
Here is what I created for Andrew:

Check out all of the other designers creation at Happileigh Scrappin' and then why don't you make a card for Andrew? Send some lovin' his way and give smiles away!

Mo's Challenge!

I received this Mo Manning image on Facebook just for being a member of Mo's Digital Pencil there. This week the challenge on Mo's Challenge Blog is to do a spring card with handmade flowers. I knew that this image would be perfect!
My papers are all scraps that I have been hoarding and thought the perfect fit for the colors I have used to color the image. I have used my Copic markers to color. My flowers are made from prima flowers(on the right side of card) and a flower that I bought at my neighborhood "junk" store and then pulled apart and remade! It came on a long stem and had a middle part that stuck out, etc. so I actually pulled it apart and remade it to my liking! Thanks for looking everyone!

D2D Delightful Inspiration!

Another week and another challenge from Faith over at Delightful Inspiration! This week we were given this image for the progressive challenge. I love this image! We are still freezing here in Buffalo and I am so sick and tired of snow! It is like a bad four letter word around here! lol! Thanks for looking and leave me some lovin'! This week we have a sketch for you to follow. One a CAS and one a little more elaborate but basically the same sketch. Check them out here. Here is my take on the sketch using one of Leigh's wonderful new images, "Bunny and Lady Bug". There are quite a few new releases and I think that you will find that there is something for everyone!

I also made a card for my niece's birthday using Leigh's new calendar set and Jenny Jeans. I even threw in a cupcake from the Cupcake celebration set! (Can you find it?

She is colored with my Copics and then the edges were inked with Tim Holtz distress ink. The stars were cut out using a small punch from the same scrap paper and I used a Stampin' Up word window punch to place them on.

D2D Flower Blessing

Faith from Designed 2 Delight has the cutest little bunch of flowers called Kaela's Spring Bouquet that she gave as this week's image if you played her progressive challenge last week at Delightful Inspiration. I decided to use the flower image with another one of the sentiments that she has given me for playing in one of her past challenges. I took the flower image and rotated it to where I thought it fit in well will the sentiment below it. I really like how it turned out! I colored with my Copics. I used an embossing folder with my Cuttlebug to emboss the blue card base front. The purple cardstock was inked around the edges and trimmed with a pair of my edging scissors from Fiskers. I then faux stitched around the edge of the purple cardstock and added some ribbon to the bottom part of it. Let me know what you think!

Two in One!

Hi everyone! I thought I would show you 2 different cards that I made last night! The first one is for the challenge at AiFactory this week. The challenge is "love". This does seem like the right week for that as Valentine's Day is right around the corner!
I stamped the sentiment with a stamp found in the $1 bin at Michaels. Michaels is a treasure trove for $1 sentiment stamps! I colored the image with my Copic markers. I used a Spellbinder die to do my frame for the image. I used old pieces of scrap designer paper and a card stock base for the rest of it!
My ribbon is also from Michaels. I used a hole punch from Stampin Up to thread my ribbon through and then tie into a bow. Check out the challenge and give some "love" away!
My next card is for the progressive challenge over at Delightful Inspiration. This is the first week of the month so the heart image is up for grabs there. If you played last week, Faith also emailed you this cute little kitten with another heart! I made a card using both images. I colored with my Copics, embossed the purple card stock with my Cuttlebug and then just placed it all on my card base!

I am so thankful today is Thursday! Have a good one everyone!

D2D Thinking of You...

Here is my challenge card for the progressive challenge at Delightful Inspiration this week. It is entitled," For the Birds Snowman". Once more just barely "under the wire". I hope my life will slow down soon! I colored with Copics and used puff paint for the snow. I used a glitter gel pen for the snowman's fur trim. Have a good night all!

Here's My Heart

Over at AiFactory this week our challenge is to do a card in red or pink. I was given this Ella Love image to work with so of course a Valentine's card was a perfect fit! I did my card a little different this time though. I printed my image into the card form and then folded the card. I then colored with my Copics and added a piece of designer paper behind the whole front of the card by gluing it to the inside of the card. I like how it turned out! I added a few felt hearts to finish off the front and I am done! Please go to our blog at AiFactory and check out all of the other samples done by or D.T. Have a great day and try your hand at our challenge!
