Clear Dollar Stamps Challenge

This card was done using a sketch from Clear Dollar Stamps. They have a contest going on for a guest designer for the month of August. I would love to have the chance to work with their designers! My card was made with SU card stock. I used my cuttlebug to emboss the four strips of paper. I used an image that I got from a coloring book. I drew the clubs myself and ripped dp for the ground he stands on. I used letter stamps to make the sentiment. I used my copics and prism markers to color and the cute little star was made with a sissix die. It would be great to be chosen for this honor as I perused all their stamps and they "rock"! Thanks for looking and leave me some lovin'!

Midnight Madness Challenge #12

This card was done for the challenge over at Midnight Madness.I used Paper Co. dp,SU card stock and inks. The bird stamp is a wooden one with no name on it...(sorry) and the small heart stamps are from studio g. The ribbons are from Joanne's and the flower is a silk one that I took apart! I love how it turned out; what do you think? Leave me some lovin' and let me know!

Tuesday Morning Sketch # 4

Melissa has another great sketch challenge for everyone up on her site at Tuesday Morning Sketches. This week I decided to not place an image with a person, animal, etc. and just go for words. I used Quick Quotes dp for the background, another piece of dp (don't remember whose as it was a scrap) and my stamped sentiment. I used Little Black Dress fibers and Un Buttons. The 3 black embellis are from Joanne's. The sentiment is from Heidi Grace stamps. I love how it turned out... This will be a graduation card for my son. I hope he likes it!

Catch of The Day!

I won this cute digi from a Squigglefly blog hop. Isn't he darling? I used my copics and prism markers to color him. I added paper around the outside and made a little sun from a sissix die and the three little pearl fish. ( I got the fish on a favor from a friend's retirement party!).I colored 2 of the fish brown with a sharpie. Thanks Jeanette!

And The Award Goes To...

I received this award from Alysabeth over at Layin' Rubber Ink. I am thrilled to receive this from her as I think her blog rocks! If you get a chance, check it out. I am to pass this on to 5 people who I think are beautiful bloggers. The hard part is picking just 5 people! Here are the people I chose:

Jacquie over at Javablustamper. I love her blog and she is very talented...

Sandee over at Simply Southern Sandee Sandy is wonderful at her creations! I love visiting her blog!

Christine who is our guest designer over at Modern Sugar Blvd. this month. Here is one lady who really rocks it out! Visit her blog at Change of Heart

Crystal over at Rustic Daisy. Crystal is a fellow DT from Modern Sugar and I adore her blog! If you need a smile for the day, visit her blog and she will always leave you chuckling!

Tenia over at Jazzy Paper. Tenia is another of the DT members of Modern Sugar Blvd. She is also the coordinator for another blog that she created called Jazzy Inspirations. This cool site gets its' ideas for card sketches from the cover of (yup, you guessed it...Jazz) CD's. One cool site to check out.

Congrats to all these wonderful bloggers and I hope everyone who is reading this checks out all of their blogs!

Double Shot of Challenges...

The first card was made using the sketch #24 from Card Patterns Weekly Card Sketch,
and a digital image from Fred, She Said. I love this image! It's the first time I have used any from Fred She Said, but it won't be the last! I used my copics and prismamarkers to color the image.Parers are from Paper Pizazz, ribbon from Joanne's.
My second card was a challenge over at Paper Craft Planet :PCP071809. My fun image is a digital image from Modern Sugar Blvd. Don't cha just love her? She reminds me of pictures from the 50's. Leave it to Beaver type; June Cleaver!
Thanks for lookin' and leave me some lovin'!

Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge # 3...on a Saturday!

I had a tough time with this sketch. I kept on procrastinating but finally figured it out last night! I used Hot Off the Press DP on the card, and Tattered Angels glimmer mist on the tagboard. I love that mist! It gave the tag board a nice shimmery look. I stamped a cute little bee on the middle of the flower area and then used his buzz as the sentimemt. The stamp is by CMC. The band going across the middle is also by HOTP and says happy birthday on it. I stamped the inside with the cute little bee again and the sentiment "Happy Birthday". Give me some lovin' and let me know what you think!

Saturday Challenge at MSB

The challenge today was given to us by our DT member Melissa. You are to do any shaped card with any Modern Sugar image. Anyone can do the normal square and rectangular cards, so we want you to think "outside the box". I used my Cricut to cut out a star shaped card and then teamed it up with this cool image, added some words and made it into a graduation card. See what you can do and maybe you will be the winner of two free images from Modern Sugar! Check out the MSB blog for all of the DT's creations. Have a Sugarlicious Saturday!

New Releases at MSB

Here are three of the new releases available today at Modern Sugar Blvd. The first is called Dance. Isn't she so pretty?! I chose to make notecards with her and a cute little box to store them in.My sentiment is from G Studio. I also used the Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist on my card after I printed off the image on it. What could be easier? You can see my completed project when you visit Modern Sugar 's blog site.My second card uses the new Lipstick image. Don't you find yourself using different lipsticks for summer? What a fun image!

My last card uses the Hoodie Mama image. I love this one! I personally like to wear hoodies (even tho my DH hates them on me!). I did this card as a collage style card and love the way it turned out. I used my cuttlebug and inked up the folder berfore putting the paper in it to give my paper a little different look. This a cool technique that I saw on my travels while online. Why don't you give it a try? and these adorable images would be great to use on those items you are going to make with this technique! So...head on over, step right up, and take a "swing" at these new images! You'll be glad you did! Have a great day everyone and thanks for visiting me!

Midnight Madness Weekly Challenge

This week there is a really cool sketch to follow at Midnight Madness! I used this cute little mouse that was a digi from Digital Delights by Louby Loo. Isn't he just adorable! If all mice looked like him, I wouldn't mind the little guys finding their way into my garage! My dp is from Quick Quotes and so is the ribbon! Brads and flowers from MM ( I used sharpies on the flowers to match my paper). The twine is just some I got at Wally World, and the buttons were just "hanging around" my house! (LOL, just hanging around! I crack myself up sometimes!) So.. go on over to Midnight Madness and try your hand at their weekly challenge after you check out all the awesome cards made by their DT. Have a great day!

Doggone Saturday...

I thought I would introduce you all to my puppy Graycie. She is a yr old Weimaraner and is non stop action! She needs to be walked at least twice a day and she runs like crazy around the yard! She steals anything she can get her paws on and claims it as her own! My grandson is always wrestling his little cars away from her... Graycie is like having another child in the house! But... we do love her and are actually training her to be more polite and well mannered!

Midnight Madness Weekly Challenge

I did this card for the weekly Moonlight Madness challenge. It took me a while to decide what image to use and I changed my mind 3 times before settling on this one. But I think it is perfect for this layout and the craziness of the Moonlight Madness blog. What do you think?

Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge #2

This week's challenge is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches...Why not give it a chance? Just click on my heading of this article and you will magically arrive at Tuesday Morning Sketches!
I love this weeks' sketch as it allowed me to use one of my larger stamps for the middle area. My card stock is SU, dp is from Paper Pizazz, I used Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist on my paper that has the trees stamped on. (I love this stuff...so much prettier IRL, lots of sparkles.) The flowers are some that I took apart from a bunch of silk flowers and then colored with sharpies to match my papers.I then added brads that I had hanging around for the center of the flowers and placed on my card. Voila! A finished card!

Paper Craft Planet sk071109 Challenge

The challenge this week at PCP is to do a one layer card. Simple right? Wrong...! I really had to think "outside the box" to do this card. I am so accustomed to doing layers and adding embellishments that this challenge had me perplexed. I finally decided on using this Riley stamp and building around him. I stamped Riley first, colored the image, then masked him and placed the tree stamp over him which in actuality then placed the trees behind him. I used one of my templates to place the decorative border around the edges of the card. I then colored the trees and chalked all of the background for water and sky. Phew! I think it turned out ok...What do you think?

Another Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge...On Friday!

I just finished another card using the Tuesday Morning Sketch for this week. Aren't these chickens just too funny?! They were a freebie from Digi Shack. I love being able to use up little bits of papers that I have hanging around in my scrap box and this sketch used 4 different papers! Yahoo! Joni from Inktegrity is sponsoring Mel's challenge this week so give it a try, and maybe you'll be the lucky winner of some slamming digital images from Joni...It's a "win/win" situation don't ya think?!
Just click on my title bar above to go magically to Tuesday Morning Sketches. (Isn't the magic of the internet amazing?!)

Relax...Just Do It!

I received this image from DigiShack ...(I think!) and am just getting around to using it now! I used the waxed paper technique with the divine swirls folder for my Cuttlebug to make the background paper. What a cool technique! Gina K's blog has a tutorial on it if you want to check it out. I used copics and chalk to color my image. The work circle was from a freebie sheet of words from (Digi Shack I think) another digital freebie. I guess I really need to start writing down where I get these digital images from...I am going to send this card to my sister Marcia who just retired as a principal of an elementary school outside of Boston. I hope she likes it...

Tuesday Morning Sketches

This is a new site that one of my fellow Sugars has started. Melissa has an awesome sketch for this week, and her examples from her DT rock! Hop on over( just click on the heading of this post) and give it a try! I know I plan on doing more than 1 card with this sketch...it's a keeper!

We Go Together...Ram a lam a ding dong...

That song from Grease has been in my head ever since I was sent the new images.Once I saw the bacon and egg with the "we go together" wording I have been really hankering to watch Grease and eat a lot of breakfast! LOL! Definately not the best food for the diet that I am trying to stick with! But... At least I can "ink them up". No calories there!
These are just 3 of the new images that will be released on Thursday :
1.) the race car on track
2.) Sports Mamma
3.) Bacon & egg with the sentiment
I just love all three of them! I hope you do too. Head on over to Modern Sugar Blvd. and check out all the other new releases! Oh; don't forget to play in the challenge this coming Saturday for your chance to win two images!

MSB Weekly Challenge

Well it's another Saturday here at MSB and that means another challenge day. But today isn't just any Saturday, it's the 4th of July! So happy Independence Day everyone! The challenge today is to use red, white, and blue on your card. That's it! My card was done using the digital image USA Rocks! I love how she is showing her flag so proudly. Freedom is something a lot of us take for granted never fully realizing how blessed we are to live in a country as wonderful as ours. I couldn't even begin to imagine living where you had no freedom... So, when you see that flag march by in a parade today; think about everything it stands for and the people who made that happen! Happy Independence Day!

(I would have left her a comment even w/o the blog candy offer, cause her blog rocks) Anyway... here is my first card made with Dorothy Anya and her cutie puppy...What do you think? Leave me some lovin' !
