AI Factory DT Call

AI Factory is having a DT call ! Click on their name to check out the details! The DT position is for 3 months and they have so many cute digital stamps and clip art that I know you will fall in love with them! I have a cute little box that I am entering for their challenge: Anything but a card. I used an empty cheese wedge box to make a container to hold my album that I created from drink coasters. The image is from Doodle Pantry. The sentiment is from Raindrop Echo. I made my flower for the cover by cutting out 3 different papers, crumpling them up, then added a little bit of color onto the white card stock piece. I added a prima flower and brad to the middle section. Easy Peasy! The tag was cut using an SU punch, the butterfly cut using a Spellbinder die.
So why don't you go on over to AiFactory and Doodle Pantry to see what fun you've missing out on!

What's Hopping?!

Isn't this the cutest image? This image is created(c) by Laurie Wilson, a very talented artist. She has licensed this to be sold through Clear Dollar Stamps so it is only available at their store. I love frogs so this one was a natural for me to create with! Enjoy your Friday everyone!

Happy Earth Day!

Today at school we had the children outside the school picking up litter... Hopefully it will be a lesson that will make them think about littering the Earth. We also did a little play where we had them picnic by a pond full of beautiful fish. Every time they forgot to pick up their lunch remains, drawings that they didn't like(and had crumpled up), etc. they were blown into the pond. Every time something blew into the pond, the children had to remove a fish. Eventually they saw that there were no more fish, the pond had turned yucky, and no wild life went near it. They all agreed that they wouldn't want to picnic, fish, etc. there anymore! A lesson well learned I hope. Today in honor of Earth Day, I did this card with a digital image that was a freebie(somewhere out there in digi land, not sure from where...).
So...Happy Earth Day everyone, keep on recycling and keeping the earth a better place for our children and grandchildren and generations to come!

Sketch Wednesday!

Happy Wednesday everyone! Wednesday means sketch challenge day at The Digi Shack. Using the below sketch, I created my card with the darling "Snail Mail" image.A Martha Stewart punch, and some rub on words complete the items needed for this card! I used my Copic markers to color the image and a corner rounder & Spellbinder die.

So come on over to The Digi Shack and try your hand at this weeks' challenge... Hopefully you will finish it before my "snail mail" arrives! lol!

Sentimental Sundays Challenge

I found a new challenge blog called Sentimental Sundays. You must use a sentiment plus whatever else is asked for, so I thought I would give it a go! My sentiment is from Raindrop Echo. Whimsy Stamps uses her(Ann) for a lot of their beautiful sentiments! My flower image is from Doodle Pantry. I thought I would send this of as a thank you to my nephew and his wife as a thanks for all they did for me during my visit to their home last week. Colored with Copics, paper fro my scrap pile and ribbon from Michaels' I used Spellbinders for the shape on flower background and my corner punch on the sentiment.
My hubby wasn't too sure about the ribbon I placed on the card...he said it wasn't noticeable enough. But; that's what I was going for as I wanted all the strength to be on the flower and sentiment. This is a different card for me and I don't really know if I "love" it...but I do like it! So...let me know what you think.

No Nurse Today...

Isn't this image a "hoot"! I lol when I first saw it! My daughter is a school nurse but she doesn't look anything like this one (thank goodness!). The image is from Bugaboo (I think), colored with my Copics, added flower that I made with a brad. Easy Peasy... Oh, here's a pic of my daughter(with my granddaughter) the "School Nurse"

DT Call at The Digi Shack!

Calling all Sistah’s!

The Digi Shack Design Team Call

It’s that time again where we are looking for a few fresh faces to join The Digi Shack.

If you LOVE digi’s you’ll love being part of our family! We are looking for new design team members. We’ve recently lowered our prices on our images to just $1 each to do our part in saving the world of paper crafter’s money! We are also adding a few new lines to our shop including some fabulous templates!

Open to:

U.S. and International English speaking applicants

Please read the following very carefully before submitting your application. It is very important that you follow the directions as that too is part of the determining factor of you becoming a DT member

· 3 pictures of your VERY BEST work. Photos must be sized at 640x480. This can either be cards, layouts with pictures or altered items

· A paragraph (not a sentence) about you and why you want to be a Shack Sistah and what you will do to promote The Digi Shack.

· A clickable link to your blog

· A clickable link to your online gallery or galleries

· A list of clickable links to all Design teams you are on. It is favorable that you are not active on more than 3 design teams while you are with TDS.

What is expected of DT members?

If you are chosen to be a Shack Sistah you will be expected to:

· Complete weekly challenges and post to your blog on the challenge day(s).

· Post comments and photos on SNR and PCP and other social networking sites.(this means you will have to have a user account at SNR and PCP)

· You will also be required to leave comments on blogs for all of our TDS fans that participate in our challenges and your sistah’s blogs

· Participate in ALL TDS events where sufficient notice is given.

· It is not required but we encourage all DT members to submit their artwork to magazine publication at least once a month. A list of publications will be provided for you on the DT blog.

You will also be required to participate in Digi Day on SNR on the 1st Saturday of EVERY MONTH for your term.(this date is subject to change without notice) as well as our monthly Ustream live video feeds (you do not need to have a webcam but you do need to sign up for a free Ustream account so that you can participate in the live chats)

You must use Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome as your internet browser in order to view all of our images – both safer than IE and free to download. Our images are not always visible on IE. This does not mean if you use IE you have to delete it, you just need to use Firefox or Chrome while working with TDS images and blogs. You can have more than one browser installed on your computer and it should not harm or interfere with your system.

You must also know and understand how to use digital images. No special software is required but you must be able to print digital images in order to showcase them. Further, you must have a working knowledge of blogging software and understand the basic principles of inserting links, adding photos, etc.

A digital camera to photograph your work is required. No scanned images please.

You will be required to promote TDS by placing a clickable blog button on your blog. (This will be provided to you by TDS if you are chosen to be on the team)

You must have a blog that is updated at least 3 times a week.

You must be willing to commit to a 3 month term (June 1, 2010-Sept 1, 2010)

You will be required to check the DT blog daily to check for updates or new events. This is our main form of communication.

You must be willing to work under short notice. I am not a planner and more often than not, I plan things at the last minute.

Failure to comply with the above terms may result in termination with or without notice.

What do DT members get as part of being on the team?

You will receive free TDS images! This round we are doing things a bit different. Once selected as part of the DT you will receive 3 images of your choice to create with to announce your position on the team. Once I see that these three images are used you may choose 3 more and so on. I’ve found that if I freely give out images then they are not being used to showcase TDS. This isn’t just about getting free images, your position on the DT is to showcase and promote The Digi Shack. As long as you are creating with our images and showcasing them, you will receive all of your requested images. Please remember that this is a serious commitment and I expect that you treat it as such if you are chosen. Please do not apply if you can not commit.

Monthly we will be releasing new images and you will automatically be sent those images before the release date so that you can sneak peek those new arrivals. Those new releases do not count towards your images of choice.

If you think you have what it takes to be a Shack Sistah email your application with DESIGN TEAM in the subject line by May 15, 2010 – Any applications with anything more or less than DESIGN TEAM in the subject line will be disqualified.

Good luck!

It Must Be Sketch Wednesday at TDS!

Check out this cool sketch! I love having these weekly sketches to try each week. They are great for when your mind is on overload and you need a quick card! And nothing could be quicker then using a digital image, some markers, and embellishments! For my card this week I've used one of the newer images that are offered over at The Digi Shack.. Isn't she the sweetest?!

For my take on the sketch, I have turned it on its' side and added Prima flowers where the triangular shapes are on the sketch. I used some old papers that I have in my "stash", Copics to color, glitter pens for the purple flowers and the one in the image's hair. A few brads, punches and the use of my Cricut for the oval shape are what helped me to finish this card. So... check on over at The Digi Shack, and try out this sketch. Don't forget to link up Mr. Linky to your creation! Good Luck everyone!

Doodle Pantry is Open for Business!

Just a quick note to let you all know that there is a new digital images store in town! Laurie Wilson of Clearly Delightful has opened up a new site so everyone will be able to purchase her wonderful images! Here is a card that I did with the "lilies of the valley" image which is found in her set of flowers images. Oh, I forgot to tell you the name of the site...I am proud to introduce you to Doodle Pantry ! Click on the name of the site and get magically taken to the store where you will "ooh, and ahh"! So many darling images!!! Have a great weekend everyone!

P.S. I set this to automatic post as I am enjoying myself in wonderful Las Vegas! Talk to you all when I return home! (Hopefully a little richer...lol!)

3D Challenge at TDS

Hi everyone! Isn't this the cutest little basket? I "cased" it from my friend Georgia over at Gram's Place. It is made out of an empty "Peeps" box. Add handle with a couple of brads to hold it,add a cute digi image from TDS like this sweet bunny, fill and go! I've done mine as an Easter basket, but you could really fill it with anything! Some tea bags, different coffee packages, chocolates, stamps, ink pads, baby booties, etc., etc., etc.! This would be darling for a baby shower or for any type of special occasion where you need quick favors! I used a "peeps" container, but I am sure you could find lots of interesting little boxes, etc., that you can have the joy of emptying first , then reusing! Think Green! Check out The Digi Shack and all of my fellow Design Team members to see what they have to challenge you with!

Sketch Wednesday at TDS

Another Wednesday and Toni has decided to do another sketch. I love sketches! It makes it so much easier to put together a card or layout, don't you think? Here's the sketch for this week: (Look to the left please...!)
My card was done with the pretty Violin image that can be found in The Digi Shack store for just a buck! Think about that...for $1.00 you can upload the image, keep it on your computer(no piles of stamps in your craft room) and print it off in ANY SIZE that your little ol' heart's desire! Sounds perfect to me! Check out my card:

Then go check out all the other DT's cards... I know you're gonna love 'em!

P.S. Don't forget to link your creation over at The Digi Shack for a chance to win a free image! Good Luck!
P.P.S. I hope I'm having "good luck" right now as I am in lovely Las Vegas! Or as my hubby calls it..."Lost Wages" ! LOL!

TDS Digi Day at SNR is Tomorrow!

What a cryptic title this is! LOL! Just wanted to remind everyone that tomorrow night at SNR Card Universe, The Digi Shack is hosting a "digi day". These are so much fun so I hope you all will be able to join in. The action starts at 7 P.M. (CST). There will be challenges, lots of chatter, tips, and prizes. Possibly even a free image! So if you don't have a 101 things to do on the Eve of Easter, join in the fun! (Even if you are coloring eggs, filling baskets, making desserts, etc. you can join the fun and check and see what is happening!) Boy would my old English teacher be proud of me for that "run on" sentence! LOL! So...please don't make me continue to use incorrect grammar; and check out the fun!
Hugs!
P.S. I will be unable to attend as I will be out of town without a computer...(I don't know if I will be able to handle it...my hands are already starting to perspire and shake.......
P.P.S. I just might have my hands on a computer tomorrow night so hopefully I will see you all at the fun!
