Two Challenges in One Post!

This card is for Doodle Pantry. Isn't this bird the cutest pirate? I made this for my grandson's birthday today. Six years old! Where has the time gone? The challenge is to do something/make something new... I have never used these images before so that's my new thing! I also never celebrated my grandson's 6th birthday before...! I used one image and one sentiment for the front of this card.(both from Doodle Pantry).

These cute little cardinals are from Designed 2 Delight. I received them for doing the progressive challenge last week. More cuties! Thanks for the great images! There were three different images given away. Each bird alone and then both together.
I am also entering the following:
Stampin' B's Design Team- Make a Celebration card (1st one for a birthday)
Pixie Cottage - Party or Celebration /or sketch. I did the celebration theme.
Simon says - Time to Party!

In With The New at IDIC

First let me say Happy Boxing Day to all my Canadian friends and anyone else who celebrates this day! We will have an open house starting in about 4 hours here with probably over 100 people "popping" in and out ! I love this day! My husband's Uncle comes down from Canada with his family and lots of moose is sizzling in a frying pan all day long! Yum!
This week at I Did It Creations we are being sponsored by Sylvie's Stamps which can be found here. My image is the sweet boy handing someone flowers. Maybe it's for a new job, a new baby, a birthday, or who knows what else you could be celebrating?! Perhaps it's your first time celebrating "Boxing Day"! lol

I used paper from my stash, my Nestabilities for the image and frame around it. Tim Holtz grungeboard(which I painted), distress inks, and tape were also used. Of course; I colored with my Copic markers. The flowers were colored with my Copics to match and then I used glitter glue on them for the bling. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up.
Go over to our challenge blog and check out all the cool creations by our Dt and then give the challenge a try!

Under the Wire Again!

My "M.O." for the last couple of weeks for the Design 2 Delight challenge has been to post it "last day". I am so sorry about that! Christmas preparation has taken its' toll on me this year! This week Faith gave 2 darling images to those who entered last weeks' challenge. The image I have used and a darling one with mittens. (You will definitely be seeing the mitten one from me in the near future!) I needed one more gift tag for my grand daughter and this image "fit the bill" perfectly! Thanks for coming to the rescue once again Faith!

This week at I Did It Creations we were given an image by Mizumedia Designs. I chose this image titled Hinata Sorry. I colored her with Copic markers and then used Tattered Angels glimmer mist to do a shimmer to the whole image. It looks better in real life, it is hard to see in the photo I think. I used patterned paper from Paper Pizazz which is about 10 years old!The stamped sentiment and hearts are from Michael's $1.00 spot. D2D and Double Delight!

Whew! I think I am getting this in just under the wire! I have been so super busy making little angels (see my Thursday Dec. 9th post) for all of my family members (I have 7 siblings...) and their grown children that I have a little town of them in my dining room! lol! This sweet image was the freebie given for doing last weeks image and entering the challenge at Designed 2 Delight . Isn't he darling?! Over at Double Delight...the theme is anything goes! A big thank you for that one! Great challenge girls! I really love joining in each week and hopefully life will get back to "normal mode" after the holiday...(Yeah right...I don't think it is ever normal around here! LOL!) My papers are: solid-Stampin' Up, patterned-Basic Grey. I used Copics to color and puff paint for the snow!

AiFactory Challenge

This week at AiFactory our challenge is switching to a two week challenge instead of one week! This means you have until December 29th to enter our challenge! And what is the challenge you ask? We made it an easy one...ANYTHING GOES!
I love this little Sweet Pea fairy image and I love the sentiment from TLC Sentiments as I think it fits the way I feel when I look at this fairy! I want to adorn myself to become this magical wonderful creature! Hopefully my children and grandchildren will think I am a fairy on Christmas morning...lol! I will become this fairy whenever I am needed to be! It is one of the many "hats" that parents and grandparents wear... Back to my card...I used an embossing folder to do the snowflakes behind my image.I also used distress inks on the imagfe to make it appear more aged. I used a Nestie to cut the shape of the pink paper. I used Copics to color and glitter pens to (duh...) add the glitter! Pearls add extra glamour and the flowers also add a little pizazz! I think this card will be perfect to send to one of my friends when they need a little extra "lovin" and reassurance of their strengths in life!
Check out all of the other lovely creations by our DT and try your hand at the challenge! This lovely fairy can be found at the AiFactory store here!

CDAC Challenge

Isn't this the cutest image?! Tracy Vinson from Sugar Creek Hollow has it up at Crafters Digital Art Center right now for a challenge. I made this simple card so that the image would take all the attention. Let me know what you think!

IDIC Challenge #33

The challenge at I Did It Creations is to do a creative fold for your card. Not a normal "fold in half" like we all usually do. Reach beyond your "norm" and try something different. I decided to do a "buckle" card. There is a really good tutorial on Split Coast Stampers here. I used a sweet dragon image from Stampin' Dragon Designs at Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps. Check out all of the other Design Team members creations and then give it a try! We give a freebie with every challenge also. Just pick one of the images used by the DT, email Jeanette at: jeanette_wtrs@yahoo.com and put IDIC Freebie Request in the subject line with the name of DT member whose image you would like to use and she'll send you the digi stamp they used in this challenge.

The first picture is the outside of my card and the second picture is the inside of the card.(you lift up the buckle{the designer card stock} to open the card)

I am entering this also into the following Challenges:

Angels We Have Heard on High...

Over at Crafter's Digital Art Center you can find a class on "angel Making". How cool is that! Just think... You too can make angels! LOL! I was super intrigued and had to take the class. (And the best part...it's free to take!). I saw all of the wonderful angels that Carole did and was very envious... I knew I didn't have the goodies to make mine as glorious so I did the next best thing...I recycled! Yup! My angel is made out of the tops they place on your take out food at restaurants! The school that I work at has lunch delivered every day for their students and I looked at those tops with the wonderful cardboard on one side and silver on the other and thought.......why not! I added some tinsel trim that I found at the dollar store and also used my Cuttlebug to emboss the wings. So...now that you know what they are made out of, let me know what you think. !
P.S. I did wash them before creating with them! LOL!

AiFactory Holiday Birds

The challenge this week at AiFactory is: Holiday/Christmas. Pretty wide range there for your interpetation! I did these sweet little birds that are now available from Mia's shop here.
I used a "punch around the page punch" from Martha Stewart and I have to tell you...I love it! I was able to make this cute window in the front of the card to let my image peek through! I then placed the bird image (colored with Copics and Stickles) on the inside of the card along with another sentiment from Doodle Pantry. The sentiment on the outside of my card is from Raindrop Echo. The papers are from Basic Gray.
Check out all of the other creations at AiFactory and then try your hand at the challenge! Have a great day everyone!

Just go over to Faith's blog and pick it up for free! If you enter a challenge with it, you will automatically be sent the image for next week! I Did It Creations Vintage Challenge

At I Did It Creations this week the challenge is Vintage Christmas and I have used a digi stamp from the talented Hope Jacare Doodles. Hope has a unique style that is perfect for a vintage theme. I have chosen to play with her "Christmas Rooftop" image which can be found here.I embossed both the card and the image background. I then distressed both using Tim Holz distress inks.My ribbon was then added along with some rhinestones and a cute little flower from Trico that I edged with glitter glue.My main image was colored with Copic markers and then distressed with both distress inks and glimmer mist.
I am fairly new to "vintage" even thought I love Tim Holz's vintage look, so I am still a novice. Hopefully I accomplished the look here... I hope you all go over and check out the challenge at IDIC, see the other lovely creations done by our DT, and then try your hand at it yourselves!
