Happy Birthday to Me!

My birthday was yesterday and I had a great day! My husband took me to Fanny's for dinner (a nice upscale restaurant). When we returned home, my sister in law Sharon came over and my sons brought home not 1 but 2 ice cream cakes! My daughter and her family came over and we had cake. The gifts were wonderful (my granddaughter made me a potholder and my daughter gave me clothes). But my one present was one I had waited for since before Christmas! I had asked for the Wii Fit for Christmas and my family surprised me with a new computer! Don't get me wrong; but I wanted the Wii Fit... Now fast forward to my birthday, and they gave me the Wii Fit! I guess the anticipation was worth it! I had told my friends and co-workers that if I didn't get it for my birthday, I would go buy it today. (I know that sounds horrible and sounds like I am a spoiled brat but really I'm not! Usually I never give a list for Christmas and tell everyone I don't want anything. But this year I started 2 months before hand and just constantly said that I wanted the Wii Fit and nothing else...It didn't work!) So to make a long story short...it has arrived and now I have to make sure I use it every day!!! I feel so loved and blessed by my family!

Happy Birthday!

Another card done with Laurie Wilson's cute bunny image! I love this bunny and am so happy to use her! I made this card in celebration of my new great niece Madelyn who was born yesterday! My sister passed away one year ago today but I know that she is watching down from heaven and showering her first granddaughter with love and kisses... and singing her "Happy Birthday" just like she did with all of our children.(My sister was an R.N. and was in all of the labor and delivery rooms with our childrens' births) I love and miss you Sis...

My First Easel Card!

Clearly Delightful blog is the owner of this sweet little bunny image. Laurie Wilson has a challenge up on her site and when you do the challenge using a bunny image, she sends you this sweet image as a thank you! Does it get any better than that?! I also did my first easel card! I am so excited that I finally tried to do one and so surprised that it was so easy to do! Why did I ever wait so long to try it? I love how this card turned out. It will be for a friend at work who loves bunnies and wants to get one for our classroom! Maybe this one will suffice until our classroom has the "real thing"!
I used SU card stock, Cricut DP, Martha Stewart punches for (purple) flower and the fence on inside of card. I also used a Prima flower and Copics,& Prisma markers to color this sweet bunny. Leave me some lovin'!

Crazy4 Challenge of the Week (C4C20)

Bugaboo Stamps has another Friday Freebie up on their store site, so go and grab it quick before it's gone! They also have a blog hop that runs through Monday, so check it out! I did this card using the Crazy 4 Challenges sketch this week. I needed to make a birthday card for one of the girls at work, so I thought I would give this "oh so funny" image a go!
My papers are all from my scrap pile so I'm not sure whose they are...sorry! I have used a Martha Stewart punch for the flowers and some tag board circles for their centers. I used ribbon from Michael's, and Prisma markers and Copics to color. Leave me some lovin'!

A Freebie & a Challenge (C4C19)

AI Factory has a sweet freebie for you. I did this birthday card using her and I think it turned out cute, cute, cute! I used papers from Quick Quotes and a Martha Stewart punch for the edging on the tag. I also used a MS punch for the flower onto which I've added a button. The other flowers on the card were cut out of a piece of scrap DP from my stash. I used a glitter pen to outline her hair and used both copics and prisma markers to color. This week Crazy 4 Challenges challenge is to make a birthday card, so I am entering this card for their challenge. Leave me some lovin'!

Catching the Bug!

There's a new digital stamp company in town...Bugaboo Stamps. Because they are new they offered up this cute little bunny image to do their first challenge... With a bonus. What is the bonus you ask? If you submit an entry to their blog site by 8 :00 PM tonight, they will give you any digital image from their store for FREE! How sweet is that?! So, why don't you go check out their site and see which one you want for free!
My image was printed out twice. The first one I colored and cut out. The second image, I colored around the edges, inked up the background and then outlined. To this image, I then added my cut out image which I then popped up on pop dots to give it some depth. Images were colored with Sharpies and Prisma Markers. My papers are from an old Cricut pad of DP. Have a great day!

CDBCD1 ...Bunny Time!

Clearly Delightful Blog has a new challenge...their first! Once a month on the 5th of each month a challenge will be posted. You must follow their requirements and your card must be a new one (never posted before) to enter. This month the challenge is to use a bunny anywhere on your creation. I have used this cute little bunny from Stampabilities to make a card for my nephew on the birth of their first child (a girl!). My papers are all from my scrap pile (trying to stick to my first resolution of the new year... use up your scraps!). I have used Prima flowers with brads from Joanne's. I punched out my circle from part of an old Christmas card(it was the snow on the front of the card), because I am also trying to reuse, reduce, and recycle! If you click on my picture you will be able to see all the sparkle on it. This is colored with Copics and I have chalked around the image with a pale blue. I also inked around the outside border of the card itself to soften the white edges. I hope you like it. Leave me some lovin'!

Playful!

This digital image is from Mo's Digital Pencil. This is one talented artist! I used copics to color. Just a fun image to remind you all "that all work and no play, makes Jack a dull boy"! So... to paraphrase the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles..."party on dudes"! Have a great Friday. We are going to dinner to celebrate both of our sons getting great grades and averages (3.75 for our senior & 3.25 for our freshman) for their first semester of college!

Penguin Fun!

I found this adorable image at Angel's Landing and knew I had to buy it! I love these little penguins with their cute little hats and scarfs. They just make me smile! I love to "ink up" images like these... So... take a look and tell me "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" like we ask our classroom everyday at school when we want their opinion on stuff. Let me know if I was right to find happiness with these little guys! LOL!

Cold in Buffalo!

Don't these picture bring back memories of your youth? I can remember spending hours outside with my brothers making snow forts and having snowball fights! Now I wish I had an automatic car starter! Man... it stinks getting older! My grandchildren had a blast playing out in the snow this past Sunday, while the rest of us shoveled out from a foot or more of snow. We had drifts over 3 feet in our driveway... It sure would feel nice to be in Arizona or Florida right about now! But, I wouldn't want to be there without my family, so I guess I'll take the snow and Buffalo! Stay warm everyone!

Friend...

Another card done with an image from Phindy's Place. I love her digital images! This scene was colored with both watercolor pencils and copics. I tried to get the feeling of that time of evening just before the sun goes down... dusk... I never did an image trying to color both sky and water in the same one so this is a first! I hope I can improve with practice... The DP is from Quick Quotes, the solid is from my stash. ( new years resolution...use it up!)I used my spellbinder with a labels nestibility for the shape around the image. The sentiment is from SU. This is much more vibrant in real life... Leave me some lovin'!
