New Release at JP Friends

Over at Jellypark Friends Claire has released 6 new images to get you in the mood for the Christmas season. Only six months until Christmas is here once again. I know that it always seems to creep up so quickly and I am never quite prepared...lol!
I would like to share a card that I made using one of the new images:
My papers are from Cloud 9 Harvest Holidays pack. The ribbon was made by using Michael's ribbon. I colored the image with both Promarkers and Copic markers. The sentiment was cut out using a Stampin' Up window punch. A few rhinestones were added to the falling snow and my card was finished. I can remember sitting by the window watching the falling snow and wondering what Santa would put under my tree! Ahh...to be young again and have all the wonder, excitement and anticipation of the holiday!
Go over to Jellypark Friends and check out all of the new image releases. I know you will fall in love with them!

Christmas in July !

Today the challenge over at Jellypark Friends is all about Christmas! We want to see your creations made for this holiday. I created a trifold card using a sweet snowman image that was colored using Copic markers:
This is the front of the card. I also am adding the following pic so you can see it standing...
I used scrap designer paper to add to my white card stock then used a Spellbinders die set to cut out the different sizes for the background and image. This was all placed on my card front. A sentiment was added to the base and then I used a punch from Stampin' Up to make the moon shaped punch which then fits the bottom of the card to make it stand up. The embellishments were made by creating stars with my Cricut machine and adding a present sticker from my stash. A piece of pretty lace and pearls across the top of the card finishes it off.
Check out the challenge at Jellypark Friends and then plan on joining in the fun! It is never too early to start on those Christmas cards!

Sweet Summer!

I love summer and everything about it! Long hot, lazy days that bring back the memories of my youth...Eating watermelon and spitting out the seeds; seeing who could spit them the farthest! Staying outside and coming home once the "streetlights came on". I loved the freedom of summer! So...in honor of those memories I have created this card to send to one of my brothers (or should I say,"one of my partners in crime" during those long, lazy, hot summer days...).
I have used a Doodle Pantry image and sentiment for my card. The checkered background is actually gift wrap! The image was already in color (great time saver for those who need a card quickly). My other paper from my huge scrap pile. I distressed the edges of the sentiment added a few buttons, some butcher's twine and a cute little punched out heart.
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far. Only 2 more days then I am off on Holiday with a very good friend. (Leaving the Hubby home this time...lol!)

Give Thanks Challenge

This week at Jellypark Friends the challenge is to create a card that "Gives Thanks" to someone in your life. The design team did an awesome job and you can check out their cards and the challenge here.
Jellypark also released 3 new digital images today. These images all have to do with school. I worked with the teacher image and created the following card...
I had such fun creating this car and thought about all of the things that you learn in school. I added the alphabet image from a retired stamp of Stampin' Up. The ruler was actually one that you find in a sewing kit. I copied the original and this way I can incorporate it again and again in future creations! My banner is from a Cricut cartridge and I added all of the inked lines with Copic and glitter pens. All edges of all the paper was distressed using Tim Holtz tea dye distress ink. I used two small punches to create the circles for my banner. The paper was from a bunch of papers that I bought at a garage sale(love, love, love to go "saling"!)
Check out the new images and creations from the design team here. Have a great weekend everyone! (Only 5 more days until my holiday!)

Happy Birthday Son...

I wanted to share the card that I made for my son James' 25th birthday this week. Hard to believe that my firstborn son will be a quarter of a century old when I am only 40...lol! (Don't I wish I was 40...!) I used one of the images from Doodle Pantry for the "Wanted"poster that I used. I used Photoshop to overlay a pic of my son and his girlfriend along with the "wanted" sentiment from the image set. Here is the front of the card...
I used a kraft paper base for the card and then "fussy" cut around the poster. This I placed on black card stock. I used some designer paper; distressing the edges with Tim Holtz tea dye distress ink to place on the front of the card and then added the poster. A couple of buttons that I threaded with baker's twine and the front was done. I was going for a more masculine look and I think less is perfect for that.
Here is the inside of the card...rather simple again...
Go over to Doodle Pantry and try your hand at our challenge. You will be "rewarded" with a free set from Doodle Pantry. So...go and get your "reward"!

Happy June to All!

Today is the day of the new releases over at Doodle Pantry! I chose to work with the Lil' Oz set. Here is the set:
I colored the image and then set about making my card...
I colored with my Copic and used a glitter pen to make that yellow brick road... I cut out two tags using my Cricut Expression die cutting machine and added a pretty ribbon. My other papers are from my HUGE scrap pile! I don't think it will ever get smaller as I keep using new papers and add the leftovers to my pile ! lol! I used a Studio G punch to add the hearts.
Check out all of the new images at Doodle Pantry and take our challenge. You will be rewarded with a new set just for entering (must use a Doodle Pantry image...not sentiment only).
