D2D Autumn Flowers

This week the progressive challenge at Delightful Inspiration used a wonderful image set with fall mumshttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif and sentiments. I used two of the flower images for my card. My Copics were my coloring tool of choice along with some Tim Holtz distress inks. I love how my card turned out with all of those yummy autumn shades. Autumn is my favorite season and the colors are amazing all around me outside! The air is crisp, the tress are beautifully colored, football games are fun to go to and the fireplaces start to "cozy" you up! What's not to love!
Go on over to the D2D blog and check out the challenge!
You will be happy you did!

Parrot Love

This great image is from a new set at Doodle Pantry called Parrot Play. I love this bird and found it fun to color it! I used my Copic markers and also a white gel pen. I highlighted parts of the green feathers with the gel pen then went back over them with my green Copic marker to tone down some of the brightness of the white. I then used a glitter pen over that. I really think it made the feathers look more realistic! I love how it turned out! I used papers from my stash, and green ribbon from Joann's. The dots on the card are from a pack that I bought at my LSS. The yellow dotted ribbon and the embossing folder that I used on my green background paper are from Paper Studio. All in all: I really am happy with the results.

Doodle it Up!

I have a creation that I have done using a Doodle Pantry image and sentiments to show you today. I used Laurie's Pirate Birdie images and sentiments to make this birthday card for a young boy.

What a lot of fun I had making this card. I used my cuttlebug and 2 different embossing folders...one on the blue background the other on the black one. My gingham paper was from my stash of pieces so not sure whose it is... but I love it with this image! I used black glitter paper behind the "Ahoy Matey" sentiment and behind the inside sentiment. I wish it showed up better in the picture cause it really sparkles IRL.
My base was just 110 weight cardstock from Walmart to which I attached the turquoise paper and other papers.I used glitter pens, and Copics to color with.

SNR Creation

A while back I told all of you that a card I had created was chosen for publishing in the August issue of Scrapbook News and Review. I thought I would share it with you all now that the publication is a thing of the past.
Here is the card that was published...

Pretty cool...huh?! I am super proud as it is my first publication!

Happi Time !

This week at Happileigh Scrappin' the challenge is "T Time". Use an image that starts with a "T". I chose this cute teddy bear image of Leigh's to use for the cover of a journaling book that I made for my granddaughter for Xmas. (If I keep on making her stuff; she won't have any room in her bedroom for herself! haha!)
I used a notebook that I picked up at the $1 store. It had an ugly cover but I knew I was going to "cover it up" so I didn't mind the ugly part! I used Leigh's image called "All Tuckered Out". It was colored with Copic markers. I also used a retired SU stamp to stamp the background of the image to hopefully make it look like a wall. The sentiment is from TLC and I found my wonderful ribbon at the $1 store also. The striped paper behind the image is from Quick Quotes.
Check out the challenge at HLSC and then try your hand at it!
Sadly, this is our last challenge at Happileigh Scrappin'. Leigh has decided to close the challenge due to the many obligations she has right now. I have enjoyed designing for her and being a part of her Happi Sisters Design Team. I will miss working with the wonderful and talented sisters in our group.

Have a great Monday everyone and hopefully a great week!

D2D Progressive Challenge

This week at Delightful Inspirations we were given this sweet flower in vase image for playing last week. I had fun with it and tried a lot of different things with it. I colored it using Copic markers and also watercolor crayons. I used a white gel pen to do part of the flower and also to add the polka dots to my green "dots"! My designer paper is from Making Memories.I also used part of a paper bag for the kraft paper. I used a large green twill ribbon along the bottom and then added a smaller pink one with a "dot" in it's middle.

Lia Stampz Moving Challenge

Hi everyone! This time the challenge at Lia Stampz is to make a creation with a "moving" element on it. I used a slider tab to create my card with the flower that can travel along the bottom of the card.As you pull out the tab; the flower will travel along the bottom from right to left. I never did this type of card before and pretty much just made it up as I went along...! No tutorial...just the idea. I do like how it turned out though.
Go on over and check out all of the wonderful "moving cards" created for you by our design team. Then...get "moving" with us!

D2D Autumn Harvest

This week we were given this image called Autumn Harvest by Faith at Designed 2 Delight for her progressive challenge.I used a sentiment from TLC which I think is perfect for the image! My designer paper is much prettier and richer looking IRL but I had a hard time taking a picture due to the lighting...
I hope you like it...I will send this to my sister who now lives in sunny Florida and I think she must be missing the change of seasons...

Some Cricut Fun!

I made two cards using my Cricut Expression that I thought I would share with you. I am really having fun with my Cricut lately and have found a couple of good sites to go for inspiration.
My first picture is an album that I made using toilet paper rolls! I used my Cricut to cut out the letters and my Bind It All to put it all together. I made tags to go inside of each toilet paper "sleeve" using my Cricut also. I love how this turned out! To get the thickness for each letter I just multi cut each letter and then glued them together to get a sturdy thickness.
My second picture was done using the Birds on Parade cartridge. I love this sweet "ghost" image and thought it perfect for my neices (twins) for Halloween. The third pic is just of one of the cards so you can get a better look at it.
My forth card was cut out in the shape of the overalls using my Freshly Picked cartridge. I then cut the layers for the overalls and glued them onto the base. I added some faux stitching around the edges for a finished look. All in all... I had a lot of fun! I hope you enjoy how they turned out too. Perhaps you too will "dust off that die cut machine" and get busy having fun too!

I added buttons and lots of glitter to make sure that I met the criteria of the challenge. I love Laurie's sweet bird images and never imagine growing tired of them! A solid blue card stock and a white sheet that I cut for my base and this birthday card is finished!

Happi Time!

This week the challenge at Happileigh Scrappin' is "Autumn". We want to see your autumn interpretations. Maybe you will use lots of autumn colors like I have or perhaps lots of falling leaves. Maybe your autumn creation will have a football player or perhaps an empty tree...You get the idea! Show us what you've got!
I chose to use this pre-colored image ( Hello Rufus) from Happileigh Scrappin'. The little lady bug that is next to him in the image was cut out and placed on my sentiment. I used paper from a DCWV pack and used my Cricut to cut out the frame to place Rufus in. I used a Sissix die for the scrolled vines and places Prima flowers with Tim Holz brads on them. Next I went to town with my stick on pearls from Joanne's $1 spot! This card will be for my niece who is in the midst of a lot of life changes and I want her to know that I love her!
Check out the challenge at Happileigh Scrappin. Challenge blog and then try your hand at it!
As always Leigh has lots of goodies on sale at her shop and you always get the free image (of the month) with purchase!

Cat's Meow at D2D

This week Faith gave us the sweet Falloween Cat image to work with for her progressive challenge at Delightful Inspirations. I copied it twice at different sizes and then used a fence image from Happileigh Scrappin' to place them on. I think this will make a great anniversary card. My background paper is really a dark blue but didn't photo right with all this rain we have today. Oh well...

Anything But a ... Challenge #81

Another challenge for you from Critter Sketch Challenge Blog this week. Our challenge is: Anything But a Card! I created this treasure box for my grand daughter. I used a digital image by Wags & Whiskers called Nichola Fairy. I colored her with Copics and added lots of shimmer to her with my Spica glitter pens. (Much prettier in real life) I added some wonderful lace around the top of the box and some seed pearl sprays. I also added a grograin ribbon bow. I hope she loves it!

Happi Time!

This week at Happileigh Scrappin' the challenge was given by Chris. She challenged us to use fall colors...yellow, brown, and orange.I thought about those great cowboy boots at the HLSC store and knew I found what I wanted to use! I colored the image with a combination of Copic and Sharpie markers. The brown emblem behind the boot image came off of a tag on a pair of my son's new jeans! I snatched it right up and put it in my stash(admit it...you too have a stash!)of "things that I might use some day" ! Today was the day! The background dp is from Quick Quotes. The cord on top of the tag is just some cotton clothesline. The paper clip on the bottom tag is from Office Depot. The sentiment on the bottom tag is from my favorite place...TLC! Hope you like it all together...I do...!
Check out all of the other great creations by the DT at Happileigh Scrappin' and then try your hand at the challenge. Don't forget that if you use a HLSC image you will get two entries into the draw for the prize! (There are some freebies at the store). And as always Leigh gives away a free image with a purchase. So it's a "win win" thing! Have Fun!

Doodle Pantry Challenge Time!

Well...this is my first challenge since joining the Doodle Pantry DT once again! I was so excited to work with Laurie's images! The new releases this month are so wonderful! Make sure to check them all out here and then plan on doing some shopping! I used 2 different images from the new ones.... I used the Vintage Slot Machine and the Quirky Ostrich images. How fun are these! I did the slot machine using DCWV paper behind it with numbers (get it...$$$$ numbers hopefully) and then added some fruit brads just like the old machines would line up in the windows! I colored it with my Copic markers and a Spica glitter pen. Then added a jewel to the bottom of the machine where the lock would be. This will be for one of my best friends who loves playing the slots. (shhh...don't tell her...lol!). The ostrich was also colored with Copics and then I used a white gel pen to do the polka dots and plaid lines. I love how sweet she looks! I used several different ribbons for the bow on the top and another 2 ribbons and metal fastener (from Quick Quotes I think) for the bottom piece.
Today starts a new Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge... all you have to do is use any Doodle Pantry Image and enter!! Everyone who enters WINS a complimentary digi set (includes outline, fully colored images, sentiments AND digi papers!!) ~ so come over and check it out!!

Go over to the Doodle Pantry challenge blog and check out all of the wonderful creations that the DT have done for you. Happy Labor Day everyone!
