MMSC # 20

Another week and another sketch challenge for Midnight Madness! This one took a little more planning on my part, but I eventually settled on this cute digital image! I used brown and pink with a little gray thrown in for good measure! Have a good week everyone...

MSB Digi Day

Good morning everyone! Yesterday over at SNR Card Universe Modern Sugar Blvd. had a digi day event. Lots of fun was had by all who attended. They gave away a cute little cat digi and challenged you to make a Halloween card with it. Here's what I created. I paper pieced the cat for 3 of the images and stamped a background to my paper. I chalked over the stamped background for more interest. The paper on the bottom half of the card is suppose to kind of represent a fence (use your imagination here folks... lol !). I used a $1 stamp from Joanne's for the sentiment, circle cut it with the black paper and chalked it up...(to represent a full moon). They are having one heck of a party on that fence, howling at the moon with those bats flying around...ha ha! There's still time to go to Modern Sugar Blvd. over at SNR Card Universe for your free cat image and give the challenge a try. So; come on and "howl" with me!!!

Happy Anniversary to Us!

We will be celebrating our 36th wedding anniversary this coming week on September 29th... Where have the years gone? It seem impossible that we have been married this long when I still only feel like I am 25 years old! We went to dinner last night at Mother's on Virginia street in a downtown Buffalo area. What a wonderful dinner! All I can say is that if you ever get the chance to go there... go! I don't know why we waited all these years to go to this restaurant! We certainly won't wait another 36! LOL! It reminded me of the little restaurants that you would find in Manhattan...Simply a jewel!

Crazy 4 Challenges

i thought I would try a new challenge I found on line this week. Crazy 4 Challenges had a sketch that looked eazy peasy so I thought I would give it a try! I used another of my Gorjuss girls and a sentiment from heidi grace. Papers were just scraps from my pile... Copics used for coloring, MS punch for butterfly and some ribbon from Michael's. Thanks for looking!

Vee's weekly sketch challenge # 10

What a cool sketch Vee has this week! I tried out a new stamp set that I bought at AC Moore this week, with a cool robot, rocket ship, stars, etc. This looks better in real life as I had to use my flash to take the picture (night shot) and that always makes them a little blurry... Sorry! Vee's Sketch pad can be found by clicking on her highligted name right here! So "mosey on over" and check it out!

New Releases on Sunday at Modern Sugar!

Here is one of the new images to be released this coming Sunday at Modern Sugar Blvd. Isn't she the coolest? This image is named, "Serenity"I love the candle she is holding... I wonder if she is on her way to a campfire to toast some marshmallows in this crispy "Autumn" weather we are having?
Check back tomorrow and I just might have another image for you to see! Go get "toasty" now OK?!

You've got a Friend in Me !!!

This little cutie was one of my prize package images from Shirley's 2 Girls. I love this little guy and I really don't feel that way about REAL mice!
I have a good friend who is going thru Chemo treatments right now and she lives so very far away from me... I am on a mission to send her cards at least twice a week so she can feel my love... and perhaps I can put a smile on her face!

Sketch Challenge #9v from Vee!

I did this using the sketch from Vee's Sketch Pad for this week. I did turn the sketch on it's side to make it work for this cute little digi I got from Shirley's 2 Girls.Isn't he darling? Just going about his day without a care in the world... I sometimes wish that could be me... Just give me a day with no stress, no problems, etc. and I could be "on the road again"!

Cricut Giveaway!!!!

Cricut is celebrating their 100th cartridge by giving away 100 cartridges! Yup... they are giving away 100 of the Winter Wonderland cartridge! It sure would be sweet to win one! Check it out... you will be glad you did!

Midnight Madness Challenge #18

The Midnight Madness challenge this week was a little tougher for me. But... I thought about it for a bit(like 5 days...) and finally decided on this card. The image is a digi that I got a while ago. I colored it to look like nice fall colors and added some navy blue accents to give the card a little "punch". I think it works, do you?

S2G digi Challenge

Shirley's 2 Girls had a digi night over at SNR last night. I joined in the fun and received this cute digi Gracie. We were to make a project using fall colors and kraft paper somewhere on our project. I love the new Miss Elizabeth fall papers so I had to use them. (I am going back to AC Moore today to snag more!) I used paper pizazz and SU paper for the rest. And...I just happened to have a "brown" bag hanging around so I made up this cute little gift bag to go along with the card. I did flip the image for the bag. The ribbons and yarn I just had hanging' in my stash. So... let me know what you think... Does it feel like an Autumn card and bag?

P.S. If you click on the picture it will zoom it in and you can read the cute poem that I found online

The dp is from Miss Elizabeth and I colored the image with Copics and Sharpies. The sentiment is from heidi grace

Vee's Sketch Pad challenge, Digi Shack, and some other challenge...

Vee over at Vee's Sketch pad has a really pretty sketch challenge this week. I knew I had to try it! And...I just bought my first (gasp!) Magnolia stamp and she seemed perfect for this sketch. I love this sketch Vee and I look forward to next week's ! I am also adding this on to Digi Shack's challenge this week to use 1 ribbon, 2 dp, and 3 brads. I also did this with another challenge in mind: Use 1 flower,2 ribbons, 3 brads and 4 papers...You could use more of each item but had to at least use the minimum. I just don't remember whose challenge it was. LOL! So if you are reading this and know would you please let me know. Thanks! I think the next time I better write down where I get my challenges from and not depend on the old brain cells so much!

Beware...Halloween is Coming...And a win at S2G!

I did this card just because! It wasn't for a color or sketch challenge, it was just because I felt like making a card. The image is a Dustin Pike digital colored with Copics and Prisma Markers.I inked up a cardboard shape to place on the left side of the card. The little cloth corner has been hanging around in a box of "stuff" so sorry but I don't remember whose it is ( maybe Making Memories?). I used the gooey punch from Martha Stewart for the drippiness ( is that a word?!) on the image. The DP is from Die Cuts With A View. Leave me some lovin!
On to my next part of the title... I did a blog hop over at Shirley's 2 Girls yesterday and I won a $20.00 gift certificate to their store! Yahoo! I think I better go play the lottery...LOL!

Wednesday, September 2, 2009

I seem to be on a roll this week! Sassy Studio Design had a blog hop to intro their new "Back To School" line. They played this cool little contest to find all the school items on each of the DT's blog postings. Well... I played along and entered the contest and found out today that I won! Yahoo! And what did I win you ask...? I won three of their just released back to school images! So check out my blog in the next couple of days and I should have something made up to show you!

My papers are from Paper Pizazz, and Quick Quotes. I used Copics and Sharpies to color the image. I added ribbons from Offray, brads from Making Memories and Stickles(to the pumpkin).I added a sentiment which I embossed with SU copper embossing powder. Voila! One High and One Low...

Layin' Rubber Ink named me the winner of her blog candy! I won out of over 230 entries! Yahoo! I am super excited to win a set of six of these little cuties. I can't wait to "ink them up". A big thanks to you Alysabeth! And if you get a chance to check out Alysabeth's blog you will love it!

On another note... I was too late to make the team at Digital Ink Co. as the DT had already been picked :(
But; I have been asked to perhaps be a guest designer in one of the coming months so I am super happy about that! If you get a chance hop on over to Digital Ink Co. and congratulate the new DT and check out their "goodies". I think you'll be glad you did! Happy Tuesday everyone!
