Two Challenges in One Post!

This card is for Doodle Pantry. Isn't this bird the cutest pirate? I made this for my grandson's birthday today. Six years old! Where has the time gone? The challenge is to do something/make something new... I have never used these images before so that's my new thing! I also never celebrated my grandson's 6th birthday before...! I used one image and one sentiment for the front of this card.(both from Doodle Pantry).

These cute little cardinals are from Designed 2 Delight. I received them for doing the progressive challenge last week. More cuties! Thanks for the great images! There were three different images given away. Each bird alone and then both together.
I am also entering the following:
Stampin' B's Design Team- Make a Celebration card (1st one for a birthday)
Pixie Cottage - Party or Celebration /or sketch. I did the celebration theme.

In With The New at IDIC

First let me say Happy Boxing Day to all my Canadian friends and anyone else who celebrates this day! We will have an open house starting in about 4 hours here with probably over 100 people "popping" in and out ! I love this day! My husband's Uncle comes down from Canada with his family and lots of moose is sizzling in a frying pan all day long! Yum!
This week at I Did It Creations we are being sponsored by Sylvie's Stamps which can be found here. My image is the sweet boy handing someone flowers. Maybe it's for a new job, a new baby, a birthday, or who knows what else you could be celebrating?! Perhaps it's your first time celebrating "Boxing Day"! lol

I used paper from my stash, my Nestabilities for the image and frame around it. Tim Holtz grungeboard(which I painted), distress inks, and tape were also used. Of course; I colored with my Copic markers. The flowers were colored with my Copics to match and then I used glitter glue on them for the bling. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up.
Go over to our challenge blog and check out all the cool creations by our Dt and then give the challenge a try!

This week Faith gave 2 darling images to those who entered last weeks' challenge. The image I have used and a darling one with mittens. (You will definitely be seeing the mitten one from me in the near future!) I needed one more gift tag for my grand daughter and this image "fit the bill" perfectly! Thanks for coming to the rescue once again Faith!

D2D and Double Delight!

Whew! I think I am getting this in just under the wire! I have been so super busy making little angels (see my Thursday Dec. 9th post) for all of my family members (I have 7 siblings...) and their grown children that I have a little town of them in my dining room! lol! This sweet image was the freebie given for doing last weeks image and entering the challenge at Designed 2 Delight . Isn't he darling?! Over at Double Delight...the theme is anything goes! A big thank you for that one! Great challenge girls! I really love joining in each week and hopefully life will get back to "normal mode" after the holiday...(Yeah right...I don't think it is ever normal around here! LOL!) My papers are: solid-Stampin' Up, patterned-Basic Grey. I used Copics to color and puff paint for the snow!

AiFactory Challenge

This week at AiFactory our challenge is switching to a two week challenge instead of one week! This means you have until December 29th to enter our challenge! And what is the challenge you ask? We made it an easy one...ANYTHING GOES!
I love this little Sweet Pea fairy image and I love the sentiment from TLC Sentiments as I think it fits the way I feel when I look at this fairy! I want to adorn myself to become this magical wonderful creature! Hopefully my children and grandchildren will think I am a fairy on Christmas morning...lol! I will become this fairy whenever I am needed to be! It is one of the many "hats" that parents and grandparents wear... Back to my card...I used an embossing folder to do the snowflakes behind my image.I also used distress inks on the imagfe to make it appear more aged. I used a Nestie to cut the shape of the pink paper. I used Copics to color and glitter pens to (duh...) add the glitter! Pearls add extra glamour and the flowers also add a little pizazz! I think this card will be perfect to send to one of my friends when they need a little extra "lovin" and reassurance of their strengths in life!
Check out all of the other lovely creations by our DT and try your hand at the challenge! This lovely fairy can be found at the AiFactory store here!

Isn't this the cutest image?! Tracy Vinson from Sugar Creek Hollow has it up at Crafters Digital Art Center right now for a challenge. I made this simple card so that the image would take all the attention. Let me know what you think!

IDIC Challenge #33

The challenge at I Did It Creations is to do a creative fold for your card. Not a normal "fold in half" like we all usually do. Reach beyond your "norm" and try something different. I decided to do a "buckle" card. There is a really good tutorial on Split Coast Stampers here. I used a sweet dragon image from Stampin' Dragon Designs at Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps. Check out all of the other Design Team members creations and then give it a try! We give a freebie with every challenge also. Just pick one of the images used by the DT, email Jeanette at: jeanette_wtrs@yahoo.com and put IDIC Freebie Request in the subject line with the name of DT member whose image you would like to use and she'll send you the digi stamp they used in this challenge.

Angels We Have Heard on High...

Over at Crafter's Digital Art Center you can find a class on "angel Making". How cool is that! Just think... You too can make angels! LOL! I was super intrigued and had to take the class. (And the best part...it's free to take!). I saw all of the wonderful angels that Carole did and was very envious... I knew I didn't have the goodies to make mine as glorious so I did the next best thing...I recycled! Yup! My angel is made out of the tops they place on your take out food at restaurants! The school that I work at has lunch delivered every day for their students and I looked at those tops with the wonderful cardboard on one side and silver on the other and thought.......why not! I added some tinsel trim that I found at the dollar store and also used my Cuttlebug to emboss the wings. So...now that you know what they are made out of, let me know what you think. !
P.S. I did wash them before creating with them! LOL!

I then placed the bird image (colored with Copics and Stickles) on the inside of the card along with another sentiment from Doodle Pantry. I Did It Creations Vintage Challenge

At I Did It Creations this week the challenge is Vintage Christmas and I have used a digi stamp from the talented Hope Jacare Doodles. Hope has a unique style that is perfect for a vintage theme. I have chosen to play with her "Christmas Rooftop" image which can be found here.I embossed both the card and the image background. I then distressed both using Tim Holz distress inks.My ribbon was then added along with some rhinestones and a cute little flower from Trico that I edged with glitter glue.My main image was colored with Copic markers and then distressed with both distress inks and glimmer mist.
I am fairly new to "vintage" even thought I love Tim Holz's vintage look, so I am still a novice. Hopefully I accomplished the look here... I hope you all go over and check out the challenge at IDIC, see the other lovely creations done by our DT, and then try your hand at it yourselves!

Next week she will offer a new digital image to all! I happened upon the Blog Hop this morning at Designed 2 Delight and this cocoa pack holder was one of the thrifty gifts they showed. CDAC challenge

Crafters Digital Art Center had some digital images offered by Nana Vic's up for free. The cutest little images to do "quickie" things with.I took 2 of those images and an image from D2d and combined them all together in my Microsoft Word program to make this Christmas morning scene. Faith's image (D2D) is the one big package in the center with the teddy bear on top. The other images are from Nan Vics' digital images.(the tree and the 3 gifts piled together...I reversed the gifts to make it look different on the other side of the big image.)Anyway...I loved that I was able to merge these all together to make a scene! I colored with Copics, stickles and glitter pens. I used a button with embroidery floss for the sentiment in the upper right hand corner. My package under the tree on the lower left hand side is actually a package tag that I bought last year after xmas on clearance!I have entered this into the following challenges:

IDIC #30 Wings

The theme this week at I Did it Creations challenge blog is wings. That's right we want so see wings somewhere on your creations... butterflies, birds, fairies, bugs... anything!
We are sponsored by the very talented Eiglas and you can view and purchase their images at the Stitchy Bear Craft boutique (here).
My card was done to give a more "vintage" feel to it... I distressed my kraft paper after I ran it through my Cuttlebug using an embossing folder. I used a ticket punch from SU for the top corners and also added some ribbon along one side. (My kraft paper is from an ordinary grocery store bag!)This was then laid over two different papers which were both in my scrap pile(I do try to use it all!). I then placed my image over the kraft paper. Isn't she so pretty? I love that she looks young and hip! lol!( I think those are UGG boots she's wearing!) She is colored with Copic markers and glitter pens. The words that I then placed around her were from a stash of stickers that I have had forever... I hope you like my final creation as I had a lot of fun creating it!

Just For Fun!

A couple of cards done to challenge myself for a change. The first one is done the old fashion way with rubber stamps. I used a Riley stamp that I bought for my son the hockey player. I added a couple of trees that I did using a Stampabilities stamp(which I masked). I did mask but then ended up cutting and mounting on pop dots anyway! lol! My background papers are both from Die Cuts With A View.A little glitter glue and coloring with my Copics and this card was done!
The second card was done using a new image that was a freebie over at CDAC by Digi Drawn. Such a cute little house! I used a stamp, of a small reindeer from another stamp co. to make a scene with the digital. Can't you just picture that little reindeer wondering if there is any room for him inside that cool looking house?!I colored with my Copics and then used puff fabric paint to make the snow on the house. Too cool! Let me know what you think ok?

Papers are from Quick Quotes and the flower was punched out of MM paper. I stamped with a $1 stamp from Michael's on the flower and added a cool looking brad from MM also. IDIC Traditional Christmas Challenge

The challenge this week at I Did It Challenge blog is to do traditional colors on your Christmas creation. I always thought of blue and silver as traditional colors for Christmas right along with red and green. So... I "stepped out on a limb" and decided to use blue and silver for my card! The angel is really a fairy entitled "Fairy Queen" from Robyn's Fetish.Isn't she pretty? I thought she looked like a Christmas Angel so that's why I chose her to work with! I colored her with my Copic and Promarkers.I also used two different glitter pens for her wings and dress. I used a sheet of foam which came with all of that wonderful glitter already on it for her background. The blue card base was put through my Cuttlebug with the Swiss dot folder. I computer generated the sentiment.

I found out I have a leaky aortic valve and I think it went to my head! I think everything is leaking now! LOL! Anyway...on to my creation. I chose her darling ants to use this time around. They are so darn cute! I colored with Copic markers, used a small old SU stamp for the sentiment and a new Sissix folder for embossing my kraft paper (really a piece of an old gift bag!)I then used a Tim Holtz distress ink over the embossed raised sections. So leave me some lovin and let me know what you think.

Garden Party Challenge!

This week the challenge at AiFactory is to create something suitable for a garden! Include bugs, birds, flowers or whatever you would find in your garden! I used some super cute clip art to make my card. No coloring here, just instant gratification! I printed off the images from the set called Garden Birds & Bugs which can be found here.I printed off the sheet in different sizes so I could make the flower layered. A brad in the middle and rolling up the edges of each layer made a cute flower. A little bit of felt rick rack and some green paper are all it took to finish off the card along with a stamped sentiment (SU). Go on over to our challenge blog and check out all of the other creations waiting for you by our wonderful, talented DT! Then get dirty (in the garden!) and join our challenge! Happy Thursday everyone! Leave me some lovin'

The Crafty Pad Challenge

I was asked to be a guest designer for the current challenge at The Crafty Pad which is being sponsored by Stitchy & I Did It Boutique this week! I was able to choose from 4 different images from Robyn's Fetish and I chose this darling little bird. The prize is from Robyn's store and will be five digital images or five digital paper sets of your choice!
The challenge this week is to use sewing...real or faux. I decided to use faux quite by accident! I had forgotten what the requirement was to be when I created my card, I sent it in to my "boss lady" Jeanette, then realized I hadn't done the sewing...Uh oh! No problem really... I just used a Copic marker and "sewed" around a part of my card, took more pics and sent it back along its' merry way! If only real life could be that easy! lol! But I digress... Back to the challenge.
Go over and check out all the wonderful creations the very talented designers from The Crafty Pad have to show you. They are indeed a very amazing , talented group and I feel honored to be included with them this week! Have a wonderful week!

My card today uses this sweet birdie image from one of the talented artists who are connected with Stitchy Bear and I Did It Creations Crafting Creations. This week's artist is Card Mad Fairy and can be found here. I did my card using the sketch from this week's
challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges. I did take a little liberty with the sketch by turning the background around and using a different shape for the middle area...but that's what is so good about sketch challenges...They are sketches and you are able to jump off from their starting point and make it your own! My card stock and designer paper is from DCWV. I colored using Copic markers and Sharpie markers . My ribbon from my stash. The charm is from Michael's and the flower from a company called Trico.
Go on over to the IDIC blog and check out what all of our designers have created for you... Jump right into the challenge and let us see how "charming" you can be! Have a great day everyone!
I am also entering this into the following challenges:
One Stop Craft Challenge - Anything Goes
Crazy 4 Challenges - Sketch challenge
Wee Memories - Free For All

D2D weekly challenge

This week the image by Faith is this darling bear scarecrow. I fell instantly in love with him! It took me a while to figure out how to use him on a card though...This is my third attempt and I think I finally got it right! Go on over to Designed 2 Delight and check out the challenge yourself! I am also entering this into Double Delight where the twist is to use this image with twine... Have a great day everyone!
