Old Year/New Year Challenge

This is my first card done as a design team member for Jellypark Challenges. I used the Space rocket image to create with. The challenge is "something new, something old". My image is new and the papers are all old. The planet, stars and sentiment are from an old stamp set that I have had for a couple of years. The yellow frame around the border is actually from an old greeting card that I cut into the frame using a Nestibility die.
Go on over to Jellypark Challenges and see all of the wonderful creations created by the design team and then try your hand a the challenge. It's a great way to use up some of those dodads that have been hanging around on your craft table for a while!
I am also entering this into the following challenges:

Warm Winter Wishes

Another day closer to Christmas and another creation using images by Doodle Pantry! This time I combined the images from Christmas Wreath and Quirky Penguin) using the already colored images from those sets. I used the partial wreath from the wreath set and just played with it in photoshop until it looked like a crown on the penguins head! I love that the images come both as outline and colored so you can decide which to use. I am counting down to Christmas so I used the colored images for my card. So much quicker! Laurie has amazing images and great prices so be sure to check her store out. You will be happy you did!

A very Merry

Hi everyone! Well there are only 6 days until Christmas and I am not ready yet! How are you doing with preparations for the big day? I still have more cookies to bake, more gifts to shop for and then wrap and lots of other things to do!
Today's card was made using images that are already colored from Doodle Pantry. The colored images make it so easy to finish a card when you have lots to do and not a lot of time! I combined two different images ( Christmas Wreath and Quirky Donkey) by putting a garland wreath around this sweet donkey's neck.
Check out all of the wonderful images at Doodle Pantry and have a great day!

Naughty...or Nice?

Hi everyone! I wanted to share a card I made using a sentiment from Create with TLC and a House Mouse stamp. What box should he check for you?! Haha!
I used my Elegant Edges cartridge to cut out the shape for the sentiment. Some kraft paper and green card stock to back it with a little distress ink around the edges. My papers are from DCWV. The ribbon was recycled from my xmas ribbons last year. (It was too pretty to throw out!). My image was colored with Copic markers and I yused some glitter glue for the white part of the santa hat. All in all...it probably took me longer to figure out the design then to create it! (Isn't that always the way it is?)

This week at Critter Sketch our challenge is a sketch:

We are sponsored all this month by Stamp Fairy and boy oh boy do they have some wonderful images! I chose to work with this cutie called, "Peapod 5". I don't think it was meant for a Holiday card...(probably perfect for a new baby card) but I wanted to try something different and I am glad I did! Check it out below...

12 Days of Christmas Gift

Here is my project that I promised you all yesterday. I used the colored images from Doodle Pantry's 12 Days of Christmas along with the circle sentiments to make my days. I used Elegant Edges cartridge to make the scallops which I have placed behind each image. My background paper is from K & Co. I then took the one sentiment from the 12 Days set and combined it with Laurie's Holly Image to place in the middle. This is framed in a glass front frame (12" x 12"). This will be a present for my daughter! I really love how it turned out! I hope she does too. ( Very hard to photograph because of the frame...sorry for the bad pic...really vibrant IRL)
Doodle Pantry does not have any releases this month but they are having a super sale so be sure to check it out!

CDAC Progressive Challenge...Round 8 !

The theme for this round of challenges at CDAC is "Animals Hold our Hearts". I love my puppy (She's a Weimeraner) but boy can she get into mischief!
My image is from Just Some Lines. I love this adorable puppy and knew that the sentiment from Create With TLC was just the perfect caption for the picture! I also used another sentiment from Create With TLC on my layout.
There are such cute images that are up for this challenge at CDAC so go on over and check them out! I love all of the wonderful creations by my fellow design team members. Such wonderful inspiration!

TLC Winter Wonderland Hop!

Today is the start of the Winter Wonderland Hop and we hope you can hop along with us! If you just stumbled along to my blog from somewhere in the blog hemisphere you will want to go back to Create With TLC and start from the beginning. We are giving out freebies all along the way from every stop on our hop!
My image is called Snowball Fight Vintage. It is yours for free at the end of my post! I combined it with one of Paulette's sentiments to complete the scene! Isn't it magic when you play in the freshly fallen snow? I love a good snowball fight and making "snow angels".
My image and sentiment were printed on cardstock and then colored with my Copic markers. I love coloring...it kind of takes me back to those days of my youth...haha! I cut it out using a SB die. I then used red and yellow card stock to then frame the image. The houndstooth paper is from Recollections that was placed over my card base.I used white puff paint to add dimension to the piles of snow and the snowballs. A big red ribbon with bow finishes it off.
The next stop on your hop is Laurence. Have fun!

I'm Dreaming...

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas and this image from Doodle Pantry is helping me to get in the mood! I used one of the images from The 12 Days of Christmas Color plus set. Such a wonderful set! You get 24 images (12 colored and 12 outline) and 24 sentiments! What a wonderful set for $4.50! You will be seeing more of this set as I have a few cards and creations planned to use it with! Go over to Doodle Pantry and check out all of the marvelous images Laurie has for sale...you will be happy you did!
My card was placed through my printer to place the wording on it for the background. I used a top from take out food to make the silver circle behind my image and my Expression to make the swirl (from Give A Hoot cartridge). I then paced thin ribbon on both the top and bottom of the card to finish it off! My image is on two layers of foam tape to raise it up.

Lia Stampz Manly challenge!

This week at Lia Stampz our challenge is to make a card or other creation for a man. I don't know about you but the cards for the "opposite sex" are always more difficult for me. I think it's because you can't add all of the cool embellishments that you do on a card for a female.
Anyway...We were given this cool image and sentiments to work with. I thought about my 23 year old son and how he lives for the weekends (what with work and graduate school taking up his week!). I had a lot of fun playing with this image.
Check out what the DT did with this image and then plan on joining in on the challenge!

Critter Sketch Challenge Time

This week we are being sponsored by Digital Delights. I chose to work with an image called Christmas Gifts. My sentiment is from Doodle Pantry. I thought I could use this for birthday gifts. Our challenge this week is monochromatic. Your creation should be all in the same color just different shades of that color. Here is what I created:

Fall...

Isn't this the sweetest image? This scarecrow comes in a set called Scarecrow Birdie from Doodle Pantry. It comes with several images and two digital papers. I have used the colored image of the scarecrow and then used up some paper scraps that I had from my last projects. My Cuttlebug was used to emboss the kraft paper with Swiss dots. I used my Nestabilities dies to cut out the image and the frame behind him. Everything was inked along the edges. I added a ribbon and I was finished! I left the inside blank so I could use it as a note card.A corner punch from SU was used to indent the corners of my kraft and orange papers.

CDAC Progressive Challenge...Round 6!

I hope everyone had fun with our challenge at CDAC for the last 2 weeks. Today starts another wonderful challenge round with some wonderfully talented artist images for you to use! The theme is "Winter Wonders" and will run from November 1st through November 14th.
I created my card using an image by Daisy Doodles. I love the simplicity of the image for it gave me a lot of leeway with how to present it! I colored the image with my Copic markers and used some metal titles that I found in my "holiday stash" for the sentiment. My card base is a square and I used red card stock to cover it. I then used a scrap of red polka dotted paper to place behind the image. My image was printed on card stock and then I used a Spellbinder die to cut it and the mat behind it out. My green strip is actually a wide ribbon. Pearl "stick ons" finished it off. I hope you like it. This is my first Christmas card for the year!
Check out the challenge and make sure you enter to get the images for the next challenge. If you are new to the challenge; you may "buy in" for a nominal fee. Then enter at least two creations done with the images to be assured that you will receive all of the next rounds' images for free!

Doodle Pantry Release Day!

Today is the new release day at Doodle Pantry! Make sure to get over there and check out all of the wonderful new images Laurie has for you to "drool" over!
I chose to work with a cute set called Thanksgiving Sheep for my creation. Aren't they adorable?! I also used a sentiment that comes with the set and some yummy designer digital paper that is with it too! I used the outlined images of the sheep and colored them with my Copic markers. Gotta love those Copics!
To see all the new releases, be sure to stop by the Doodle Pantry blog and check them out.

You'll want to stop back by on Nov. 5th for our DPDC 18 Challenge, remember you'll get a free set just for entering. I have it from good authority that the free set will be Wishbone Ants. Critter Time!

Another week has gone by and October is coming to an end...Where has the month gone? Happy Halloween to all of my followers who celebrate this day!
This week at Critter Sketch our challenge to you is: A sketch challenge. Our sponsor is Inky Impressions.

I took a little liberty with the size of the blocks for my card but I think you can still see the "bones" of it there. My image and sentiment are by Doodle Pantry. I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the solid green scrap that is layered on my white card stock. I stamped the white card stock with a retired SU stamp and Old Olive ink. Two more scraps of paper for the next layers and a flower that I handmade and this card was done! (It only took a few hours of agonizing over how to do it...lol!)
Check out the challenge and the other team members creations then plan on joining us!

Lia Stampz Challenge #6

Check out the new challenge at Lia Stampz if you have a minute. I think you will like it! The challenge is: round, ribbon and raised(could be embossed, pop dots, etc). Check out what some of my team members have done.
We have two teams and my team doesn't post for the challenges until the 15th of the month. So...until then...check out the other girls creations!

Halloween Ghoul to you!

I did this card with the challenge over at Mary's Cardz TV blog. This week she is challenging you to make a Halloween card using your Cricut. This was an easy one for me as I just recently acquired the Mini Monsters cartridge. The hard part was deciding what to make! I settled on this cute little ghost and the witches cauldron. I cut the cauldron and made an extra top layer so I could pop it up to look 3D. This way I think it makes it look like that sweet blue ghost is coming out from the cauldron! I used a white and silver gel pen to ink around the cauldron. Wiggle eyes were added to the ghost. I used a piece of copper metalic paper twith my cuttlebug to emboss the swirl design on. I also used black card stock as my card base. This will be the card for my grandson this year. Check out the challenge and try your hand at it!

Tasteful Thanksgiving

This card was done using a vintage image and sentiment from Create with TLC. I used my Copic markers to color the image in places. Holiday Recipes!

I made these recipe books as Christmas presents for friends of mine so shush...don't tell them! I used my Cricut Expression to cut out the cover and pages with thin cardboard (think cereal boxes). I also used it to cover the pages and make the embellishments on each page. They were cut out of card stock 6 times and then I layered the embellishments to give them more strength and a 3D look. The slice of pie is a digital image from a set at Doodle Pantry called Decadent Desserts.I used a variety of holiday papers from my stash to cover the pages and my Bind It All to put everything together.
Here are a coupe pictures of the inside pages. I am going to write my favorite recipes on the cards and then stick them in each pocket. I hope they like them!

HOPE

I did this card using an image and sentiment from TLC Creations. I love the simplicity of it and the message it gives...How about you? I did this card thinking of the US economy and thinking of where we all are right now in our lives... I know we struggle every day just to keep ahead of our bills, provide health insurance for our family, pay our mortgage and put food on the table. I really hope that there is a "light at the end of this tunnel"... Hopefully things will turn around for our country soon.

Doodle Pantry "Howdy"!

Isn't this the cutest image of Birdie yet?! I love those cowboy boots! I made my card using kraft paper and red card stock from AC Moore. I used my Cricut Expression to cut the scalloped shapes around the image and the red frame. I then used versamark ink and stamped the horses on the kraft paper. The stamp is from a retire set from Stampin' Up. The image came colored already and the Howdy sentiment is part of the set so I just added it to the image before I printed it out.I used pop dots to "pop" the image up on the card. Pretty quick card! The ribbon is from Offray and the brad I picked up at a CK convention last year from one of those places that sell tons of different shaped brads. No company was listed.(Sorry).
You still have time to enter the challenge at Doodle Pantry to get the cute Quirky Penguin set for free. So check it out! It closes on the 24th so get crafting!

Can you say YUMMY? I love the recipe that I have used for this bread and usually pass out loaves of this bread with the recipe attached!

Critter Sketch Challenge #87

This week our challenge at Critter Sketch Challenge Blog is a color challenge. You are to use green, pink and black. No other colors! If you use designer paper only those colors are allowed. Here is what I did using a Doodle Pantry image and sentiment. This is perfect for the holiday quickly approaching!

I colored it with Copic markers and used a Martha Stewart bat punch to add all of the birdie's friends! The punch for the "gooey goo" on the bottom of the card is also a Martha Stewart punch. My papers are from my scrap pile. I believe the black and green is from DCWV and the pink paper from the $1 spot at Target's last Valentine's Day!

If you know please comment here so I can give the artist credit for it). The eye and the sentiment are from the TLC store. I colored it with my Copic markers, used black card stock for the base and some paper from the Target $1 spot for the next layer. I used a punch from SU for the corners.
My second card is from a set at Paulette's store entitled "Wine Group Therapy". I love this set and there are several images and sentiments that are in it. Such a fun sentiment! Papers are from Bazzil and Target $1 spot. I colored this also with Copic markers. Two simple cards but I love how they turned out!
