Graduation!
My youngest child Tom graduated from High School yesterday and I am feeling a little sad... and so much older! His graduation took place at the Center for Performing Arts on campus of the University of Buffalo. It was a wonderful ceremony (perhaps a wee bit long) with a graduating class of 293. After the ceremony they all left the building exiting to the back of it to the lake where they all did the traditional tossing of the mortorboards into the air. What a beautiful sight to see all those hats flying up in the air! I think that having the graduation exercise at UB was beautiful and it was kind of neat as Tom will be starting college at UB in the fall. Yes... I will have two children attending UB next fall, Tom as a freshman and his brother James as a senior!
Tom, a mother couldn't be more proud of your endeavors... You had a tough time during high school as we moved at the end of your sophomore year to Charlotte NC and you did your junior year at Ardrey Kell High School there. We moved back to Buffalo (after our jobs in Charlotte didn't work out) and all you asked of us was to finish HS back at Sweet Home where you had started school. You had a lot of catching up to do with regents exams, redoing exams as they didn't know what regents were in Charlotte. You had to study hard and take classes that you had already completed in NC to get the NY regents accreditation. But through it all, you persevered. I am so proud of you!
Look out college... Here comes Thomas!
