My Love to You!

I got this cute image from Phindy's Place. The original image has a background of raindrops with the Mama bird protecting her young... too sweet.I cut away the background so I could change it up to what I needed. I colored the image with Copics and Prismacolor markers. The paper is all from scraps.(New years resolution #1: use up your old stuff). I made a label with TTBM cartridge using my cricut. The charm is one I bought in the beading section at Michael's. I used a cuttlebug folder which I inked a little with brown distress ink (Tim Holtz). I used my crimper for the light blue paper (crimped in both directions).A MS punch for the edge on the dark blue background piece, which was then inked too, a SU stamp for sentiment, a little doodling around the white edges with a glitter pen, and a piece of fiber for the charm. Phew! It's a lot easier to create the card then to list all the stuff! LOL! Happy new Year... I love you all!

FBW 90 Challenge & 3d42 PCP Challenge

I did this cool mini pizza box using the template that was on the 3D Tuesday Challenge group at Paper Craft Planet. Isn't it cool? Flutter By Wednesday also has a challenge to use a butterfly, fairy or angel on it. I used ribbon that I had on hand and a Prima flower that I received from my blogging buddy Christine (thanks!). The butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch that I used embossing powder on to make it look like a charm. The button is from a bunch I bought at the Scrapbook Convention last year(I don't know who's tho). And what's inside you ask? Well... anything you want! This would be cool for a gift card, or jewelery, or money, etc., etc., etc.!

Rudolph is getting ready to fly!

So anyway...I read a story to my preschoolers yesterday at work entitled "Mrs. Santa Claus". In the story, Santa and the reindeer come down with spots so it is up to Mrs. Claus to figure out how to deliver all the presents. Being a woman of course she has a plan. She outfits a bicycle with a vacuum cleaner motor and enables it to fly. Problem solved! But, to get to the point of my title here... We (the children and I) got to talking about Rudolph. The children were worried that he would still be sick and not able to fly on Christmas Eve. This is where my little white lie comes in...I told them that Rudolph wasn't sick. When they asked me how I knew... I told them cause he lives at my house and only goes to the North Pole 2 days before Christmas to make the trip! I told them that he was quite happy at my house where it is warmer than the North Pole and that he likes to play with my dog and munch on the grass in my back yard! Now for the real problem... I told them I would bring in pictures of him on Monday! So I guess I better get busy finding pics of reindeer on the internet! Oh, I also told them that his nose is only red right before Christmas so that he can guide the sleigh! LOL!

Canny...Isn't it?!

I made these containers to hold little gifts for Christmas. The short squatty one is from a tin of peanuts. I opened it from the bottom, removed the nuts, washed it out and then filled it and resealed it. What did I fill it with you ask? Why money of course! I will give it to one of my sons for Christmas. He will have to open it with the top pop on the can so I don't think he'll realize what will be in it! What fun! The other two cans are from vegetables and mandarin oranges. I used the food in them (opened the normal way),removed the labels, painted the rims, and used some decorative papers, stamps, and Cricut images to decorate along with some fun ribbons, wire for the handles(used my Crop-a-dile to punch out the holes for the wire) added a little bit of fluff for the red embellishments on the stamped one. These will contain candy canes, and hot cocoa packages. So...are you eating your vegetables?! Treasures can be found once the cans are empty!

Just Buggin' and C4C challenges (both are #15!)

I did this card for two different challenges... Just Buggin' and Crazy 4 Challenges. Just Buggin is to do a holiday themed card using your Cricut and C4C challenge this week is "snow". You are to use snowmen or snowflakes. My card was done with a beautiful Tim Holtz stamp that I received from my blogging friend Christine. I used SU ink for it. I added two images that I cut out using my Cricut and the Winter Wonderland cartridge.(The reindeer and the snowflake). I added some pretty ribbon which has snowflakes on it. My designer paper is from a winter pack from DCWV.My red background paper is from Bazzil and my other solid card stock is from SU. I used a glitter pen to outline the points of my snowflake. Altogether a very pleasing card (to my eye anyway...lol!). Sorry for the kind of blurry picture but it is so hard to take pics at night without a flash...Let me know what you think and leave me some lovin'!

Paper Piecing for S2G DT call

Shirley's 2 Girls has a DT call that they are extending until December 20th so get your entries in! Go to their blog to get the info. I did this card following their sketch with the twist to use paper piecing. I used a Michael's $1 stamp for my image. I stamped him 4 times on different papers then cut out the designer paper for his body, and the card stock for his hat and carrot. Then all I needed to do was glue it all on my image that I stamped on white card stock. I colored his twig arms brown and added some bling to the snowflakes that are swirling down around him. I used a punch for my circular cut and then stamped part of a stamp sentiment for the "Joy". The papers are scraps from my stash so not sure who made them. Thanks for looking and remember to check out the DT call!

Stamptacular Sunday # 37

I have so much on my plate right now with work(2 jobs) and xmas shopping, decorating, and cookie making, etc., etc., etc.! I bet everyone is in the same boat. I needed to make time for "me". And what better use of my time then relaxing with some card making, so...

The challenge this week at Stamptacular Sunday Challenge is to make a card with "bling" and not use green or red.Oh, and of course you need to stamp somewhere on the card! I really love how this card turned out! I used SU stamp for the greeting and a clear stamp (G Stamps) for the stars. I used SU papers and embossing powder for that gorgeous bling background.(If you click on the pic, it will enlarge the image and you'll see all the sparkly bling!) The reindeer was cut out using my Cricut and the Winter Wonderland cartridge. The tag was cut from the SU tag punch.I ripped and inked the edges with SU ink (almost Navy) to simulate snow. The ribbon is from my stash and the clip is a Xmas ornament hanger from the Dollar store.

Here is a peek at the inside of the card done with stamps for the sentiment and the reindeer. Hope you have a super week!

Twisted Sisters' Challenge #35 and a DT Callout!

This week S2G has a sketch with a cool twist! You are to use foil or tin somewhere on your card...(Pretty cool, huh!).I chose this cute little mouse image from S2G that is holding a bunch of flowers. The original image had a sentiment that read"You've got a friend in me". But I wanted to make this into a holiday card, so after printing it (it's a digital image)I just cut out the part I wanted to use and then colored with my Copics. I added some glam to the flowers by using prima flowers over the original ones, then coloring them with Copics, added some Stickles and then glitter over that! Wheh! But the end result is worth it cause I think those flowers remind me of poinsettias...(use your imagination here ladies and gents!!!). I used regular tin foil that I folded several times before using my snowflake folder and running it thru my cuttlebug. Chalks were used on the background for my mouse image. The sentiment is an old SU stamp and I added a paper clip with a little bit of gingham for the embellishment. I also ran some ribbon around the border of my foiled piece. My background dp was a scrap I had on my work table. I am so trying to always use them up!
They are also having a callout for new members to their design team! This card is my entry for that as well. Go to their site by clicking on S2G that can be found at the beginning of this post. Give it a try!
I hope your week is "merry & bright"! Leave me some lovin' !
