Over at Happileigh Scrappin' Challenge blog this week we have a special challenge going on... it's all about Andrew, a little 12 year old baseball player (#8 on the Elm Grove Eagles) who has been fighting cancerous brain tumors he so unfairly has had to deal with instead of playing baseball. While we have been brightening the days of others, Andrew has been making progress, day by day, inch by inch and just recently reached a milestone in his fight against cancer.I was not familiar with this, maybe some of you are, but evidently at many cancer treatment centers, when a patient has completed their very last chemo treatment, they get to Ring the Bell which is a celebratory gesture marking their successful accomplishment in reaching the end of their chemo treatments. That is the milestone Andrew recently reached. What a wonderful thing for Andrew and his family! Yay! Unfortunately after Andrew rang the bell, his chemo made him sick and he spent more time than expected in the hospital and ended up with pneumonia. After more trying days, he fought that off and was released and is now back home. He has an MRI scheduled for February 28th (today). A clean bill of health would be the ultimate result there! And then his port will be removed March 1st, another milestone for Andrew! Keep him in your thoughts and prayers for a successful MRI result!
Now about the challenge!
Let's make cards for Andrew with a Bell on them to signify his accomplishment. You can purchase Leigh's digital image by visiting her website and make a card using Andrew's image on it or if you prefer not to spend the money for the customized image from Leigh, you can still participate by using your own bell stamps. If you don't have any bell stamps, then just make something celebratory for Andrew. I thought we could set a deadline of March 15th to get your card in the mail to him and then on the 16th of March, we can all upload our cards to SCS with a special Andrew keyword so we can all admire and comment on each other's cards!
For Andrew's safety we are not keeping his address here so PLEASE email Leigh at happiscrappin@msn.com for Andrew's address.
Here is what I created for Andrew:
Check out all of the other designers creation at Happileigh Scrappin' and then why don't you make a card for Andrew? Send some lovin' his way and give smiles away!
Here is another card I did using the same images for a girlfriend of mine who just finished up chemo. The images are very versatile and can be used in lots of different ways!
I am also entering my cards into the following:

But do this with gentleness and respect."

Fantastic cards Georgia. I love that you showed how the images can be used for both male and female!
Great post Georgia, Thanks for making a great card for Andrew.
Love both cards! I am glad that there is one for boys and girls unfortunately I wish there was no need!
