Waving!

I used an image called, "Best Friends". I used some glitter yarn to fringe around the image as I thought it looked like "waving".
See what you can do for our challenge and remember to "wave"!
Claire has also released two new images in the store:

Be Original!

I wanted to share a card that I created today using one of the newest images from Doodle Pantry. I love this vintage bicycle and the sentiment was perfect! I colored it with Copic markers then placed it on some bright green card stock with the corner tabs made with a die and my Cuttlebug. That was then placed on the yellow card stock that was embossed with a Tim Holtz embossing folder. Finally it was backed on a piece of DP from Recollections. A ribbon, some more distressing and a stamped image onto my green circle and it all came together! The image is also popped up with foam tape.
There is still time to enter into the monthly challenge at Doodle Pantry as it ends on the 24th. Use a Doodle Pantry image to receive another new set just for entering! To check out the set make sure to check out the challenge at Doodle Pantry!
Three more days and then I am off of work until the summer session classes start!
Two weeks to clear out a house of 100 years of accumulation (and a barn)... We sold an old family homestead and the closing for the new owners is July 9th... Then back to school for the summer session!

Critter Sketch challenge

This week at Critter Sketch we have a sketch challenge (#120) for you...

Here is what I did with it... I kind of took liberty with the sketch elongating and making the other side wider to fit my idea but...it still is the sketch!
My niece is graduating from high school this Friday and I thought it would make the perfect graduation card for her.
I used a die to cut the vine and leaves with my Cuttlebug. The background paper was also run thru the Cuttlebug using an embossing folder. The sentiment was stamped and then embossed and has beautiful raised letters. My flower was bought at a little junk store near me. It was $1 for a set of six. I couldn't go wrong!
Check out all of the other creations at the Critter Sketch Challenge blog and then give the challenge a go!
Happy Monday everyone!
I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:
Great Impressions - Die cut or punch
Stampin' Sisters in Christ - something that reflects you (The sentiment is truly me for I will always believe in my dreams!)
Crafty Calender- Flowers in bloom
Hiding in MY Craft Room - Embossing (my whole sentiment)

Happy Father's Day!

I challenged myself to make a gift box to place my Hubby's beloved Dove chocolates in for Father's Day. We always give each other Dove chocolates for all occasions and then both eat them...a "win-win" situation! Any who...here is the gift box I came up with...

I found a tutorial for a gift box using a 12 x 12 sheet of paper and went to town! I used paper from Recollections to which I rolled on ink using a Stampin' Up roller stamp. I like the look it gave the paper... A little more masculine I think. I used my Cricut and Campin' Critters to cut out that sweet duck and George and Shapes to cut out the hearts at various sizes. I used my Cuttlebug to distress the hearts somewhat. I found some twine to use to hold the box closed. It will slip right off when it is time for the goodies inside. I also used some rub on words that I have had forever. I placed "Buddy" on the front as that is my hubby's nickname. The washi tape on the front of the lid was from the $1 spot at Walmart. I added a piece of leftover paper from another project to the bottom of the front. All of the pieces were inked with Tim Holtz tea dye distress ink. The little paper on top was done from a piece of file folder that I cut using my Bags, Tags and More cartridge.
I hope he likes it!
Here are a few closer looks at the box...

Yup...Go fly a kite! Jellypark Friends wants to see your creations using kite images, strings, kite bg papers, etc. on your projects! Here's what I have created for the challenge...

I colored with Copics and cut out the boy and kite. I then added some soft clouds to the background and a kite string using friendship bracelet twine. My papers are from Recollections and I faux stitched around the border of the yellow paper. The sentiment is also from the same set. Check it out at Jellypark Friends; I think you will love the value for your money!

It's also time for another new release from Claire over at Jellypark Friends. Claire has released two new images one of which I have used to create this card...

I colored with a combo of Promarkers and Copics then cut the image out. I stitched around the outer part of my paper that he is backed on. My stars were cut with my Cricut using Birthday Bash. The added blue stars are from Michael's $1 spot. My sentiment is from Create with TLC.

First I want to welcome the new design team members to Critter Sketch. Welcome aboard! Next; I have another challenge from Critter Sketch. This time it is an "Odd Recipe". You are to incorporate 1 ribbon, 3 buttons and 5 brads somewhere on your creation. That's it! Here is my card done with an image from Stamp & Create:
I colored with Copics and wish I would have made her hair a little lighter...oh well! My sentiment is an old stamp and I used another stamp for the starfish on the tab. The tab punch is from Stampin' Up. I used kraft paper for my card base and drew on the sun then added a circle of paper to the middle. My sentiment was stamped on a die cut from a Spellbinder die.I distressed all edges with Tim Holtz distress ink (tea dye). Check out the challenge at Critter Sketch Challenge blog and all of the lovely creations one by the design team! Happy Monday everyone!

Boy Challenge for You!

This time around at Jellypark Friends our challenge is all about the "boys" in your life! We want to see cards, projects, or layouts that were done with boys in mind. I chose to work with one of the images called Pirate. This is a decoupage page so lots of cutting and lots of layers but so worth the effort! I loved that it came already colored...all I did was cut and layer using pop dots! My sentiment is a freebie from "somewhere out there"...just not sure from who. (If you know please let me know so I can give them their due credit!) Such a fun card to make! My palm trees were created using my Cricut Expression and the Formal Occasions cartridge.
I used my Cuttlebug and an embossing folder from Tim Holtz for my brown background. I used a punch from Stampin' Up for the edge of my sentiment paper. The sunburst behind the image and the small star on the sentiment were from my scrap bag. Not sure where I got it from). I love how this card turned out! Here are a couple of close ups for you...
Make sure to go over to Jellypark Friends and check out the challenge and the new image release waiting for you to discover! I would like to enter the following challenges: 4 Crafty Chicks - Branching Out Challenge #92 Aud's Sentiments - Use any sentiment C.R.A.F.T. challenge - Background Texture Southern Girls challenge - Dying to Die Cut!(My palm trees)

New Images at Doodle Pantry!

Happy June 1st everyone! Did you say "rabbit" when you woke up this morning? It's an old English custom. On the 1st of every month this word is suppose to bring you good luck! So...I say "rabbits" once a month! lol! Now on to today's post. I had the great joy to work with two of Laurie's wonderful new images for this month's release at Doodle Pantry. Here they are:
The first card using images from the new set entitled "Seashells". I colored it with my Copics. I used the image of all three shells for my main image and a single image of a shell for my border along the bottom. The sentiment is from yet another set from Doodle Pantry! I used a Spellbinders die to cut the shape around the image and the backing for it. A little twine and some buttons (with floss threaded through them) complete the card.
The above two cards were done with the "Jug and Bucket" set. I loved combining images in Photoshop to make both cards! The first card is of the two main images from the set along with a sentiment from another of Doodle Pantry's sets. The second card was done using images from the new set along with the sentiment from another set and those crazy insects of Laurie's from two other sets! I love this fun card and it really shows how versatile all of the sets from Doodle Pantry can be! Check out all of the other new releases at Doodle Pantry and see what all of the other design team members have created for you!
